About this listen
When you spend your life at the top, there's only one direction you can go.
Pro alpine skier Aspen Archer's downfall happened in the worst possible way - a career-ending crash on a gold medal run at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Aspen packed up her broken life, picked up her broken body, and now hides in comfortable obscurity at ski resorts around the world, coaching tourists and ignoring her problems.
Cate Tierney knows who Aspen Archer is, but the last place she expected to meet the former Olympian was during a ski trip to Australia. Hurt by a past relationship, and with a teenage daughter to protect, Cate's initial reluctance is quickly overcome by her intense attraction. But with Cate's vacation ending in a few short weeks and Aspen's aversion to staying in one place, can their encounter be anything more than a fling?
When Cate discovers Aspen's secrets, Aspen is forced to face everything she'd been trying to forget. And everything she'd forgotten she wanted. Aspen already knows the route from start to finish doesn't always go as planned. Now she needs to figure out how to get herself back on course for good.

As for Moyes ! Characters so well developed, you see your own lived experiences in them. Utterly brilliant. Just listened to this while inNZ on the slopes of Cardrona!! When the next one EJ?
Moyes delivers again!! Characters so real and another heart throbbing plot.

The Australian setting had me from the start and it felt genuine indicating the author had local knowledge. Further the writing style felt Australian despite US lead characters (there are discernible differences in national writing styles). Curious, I paused the story and googled Noyes which unsurprisingly revealed she is a fellow Queenslander.
Being no expert on romance fiction I can only say the story line engaged from the start and kept my interest despite the usual predictable twists and turns in the plot.
A major distraction was accent the narrator gave a minor Australian character. The closest I can describe is Africaan, straight off the plane from Jo’burg. So bad it jolted the listener out of the story, fortunately only a minor character.
Engaging story ...... but that accent🤣

it's fantastic how it spends most of the time going through the relationship and not just entering it
