how a write about the Re-Appearing of christ?

the aurthors took sn almost impossible concept and turned it into one of their BEST books. the story moves almost too fast. i couldn't but it down. the biblical prophecy flows as part of the story. i would give it a 10 but the system only allows 5. this is the pinnicle of the series and a must read!!!!!!!!!

Fiction, but a powerful message

If you keep in mind that this is fiction based on the Bible you will have the right frame of reference. While a lot of the story does have ties back into the Bible it does not intend on replacing it. Its an easy place for some to "get the bug" for faith although ultimately they need to be pointed to the only true authoritative source, the Bible.
I thoroughly enjoyed the series and recommended it to many friends. Unlike the movies, I found the books well done, and well produced.

Gloriously disappointing

I wish I had gotten the abridged version as this thing is drawing on and on. I've listened to all the previous installments and can honestly say that ever since Frank Mueller left (man, I miss him!) that's when the series "jumped the shark". I don't think Frank could have even brought it all back to life because the storylines have just degraded over the years.

Why, after all the installments, did the narrator have to mispronounce "Petra" during this one? He must have said "pee-tra" no less than 100 times! Very annoying.

It was also very "preachy". In fact, you'd think the book was to first explain Revelations, and then to have a story. All too often a character would ask a question and an expert would jump right in and reply in all the glorious detail. Too predictable, used too often.

The first quarter of the book was spent describing the pain Rayford Steele was in. Okay, we get it! He was in pain! And yes, Jesus is all powerful so there's no need to explain that He's able to do magnificent things so frequently and to speak to everybody at the same time so often. I just got the feeling the authors said, "Hey, we've got all this time, so let's fill it with something."

Get the abridged version.

Excellent Book; Bad Narrator

I am a major fan of the entire series. I do feel that it has been drawn out a bit long, but it is a wonderful telling of the returning of our Lord. I was enthralled by the Glorious Appearing, but I did find that the lead up to the appearing of Jesus was more impacting that his actual appearing. In fact, it was almost casual in its telling. Still, it is amazing to consider. I strongly recommend the book, if the listener can get over that the choice for narration was really poor. The narrator does not have the voice or range to deal with this information. He has a very squeaky and sand-paper-like delivery. Get past that and it is an excellent book.

Good story, narrator not good. No imagination.

Not happy w/ narrator. Foreign characters didn't sound foreign. Down played humorous efforts. Do better.

What is the deal with the change in narrators?

I loved the first 4 books in this series, then they switched narrators and it was distracting and kind of terrible. He pronounced everything differently. When they switched back to the first narrator I was happy... until I realized that my favorite narrator has switched his pronunciation to more closely match the second narrator. After book 4, the rest seemed not like a summaries than stories.

dragged a bit, but good story

this was a good conclusion, I was worried by some of reviews, but I enjoyed it, there were a few times I skipped ahead a bit cause there is a lot of preaching(like a lot) and its stuff I've already heard like a thousand times, I like how Jesus was portrayed, although he does come off as somewhat of a broken record, I imagine him saying more then just scripture all the time, they squeezed a geography lesson in there for what seemed like no reason, but all around good listen, glad I finished the main series, I may not move on to the prequels or epilogue, I'll just leave on the high note, I really enjoyed this series, each book has its own unique qualities, one book can be an inspirational adventure, another can be an action filled spy thriller, and another can be a full on disaster story, I would recommend this to believers and nonbelievers alike, but I would not go to this book for God's word, read the Bible for that, read this as a entertaining fictional series, and if I gets you to pick up a bible, awesome!
