Slow it down and stick with it Great!

For a first in the series I took a shine to Cullen and though the story lacked a little body, the potential for a great series is there. Glad I kept reading because it's concepts are new and fresh and the 3 books on Audible just get better! Adding it to me series to listen out for 🙏

Very slow progress in the story

This story was moving too slowly for me to stay interested. Narration was good though.

Story was interesting

Didn’t enjoy the narrator. His inflection was over done and his volume varied so much it was either too soft to hear or so loud the volume needed to be turned down

I wanted to shoot that DI.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story and Dave Gillies narration but seriously, how that DI whats-is-name didn’t get battered by his team I shall never know. There is no way a Senior Officer would get away with speaking and treating some of his Staff like that. Well, in the “old” days he would but not when this story was set. I kept hoping someone would run him over! Loved the story though and would recommend it.

Ok storyline

New character. I would like to know more about his back story. As a DC he is given lots of responsibility- is this realistic? Anyway, let’s have more to see if he develops.

Detective Scottish Style

Well narrated with a gripping tale for those who like detective stories without too much fuss and bother! If you like trying to deduce the end, before the end, this is for you!!

Ghost in the machine

Loved the book and the story.
Sorry but I feel the reader let it down I much prefer Angus King reading the monotone voice in this reading made it hard to concentrate fully on the story.

Completely Irrational

Unbelievably stupid DI in charge of the case. Pretty unrealistic level of incompetence in an SCI (all of the senior officers in fact); plus his treatment of his team was just not plausible in this day and age. I didn’t like the narrator at all. His portrayal of characters was good but most of the time he sounded bored as was I. I’m glad this was included in my membership and I didn’t use a credit.

Not for me - didn’t finish it.

Glad this was a freebie otherwise I’d be asking for a refund.

It was a hard listen for me, not only because of the narrator’s accent (not his fault obviously), but the way his voice tended to get softer as he came to the end of some sentences, mumbling in parts. I kept having to replay at a louder volume to hear what he’s saying.

The story seems ok-ish but I feel it’s very male orientated with the detailed descriptions of the women but none of the men??

At times I found the dialogue between the main characters cringeworthy. I felt like I was listening to a 1970’s late night soapie.

Didn’t finish it.

The monotonous drawl

It was one of the most monotonous books I have ever listened to, sheer desperation made me continue
