Publisher's Summary

A funny cozy mystery - with ghosts!

When Laurel's mother, Thelma, becomes possessed by the ghost of a punk rocker, Laurel is tasked with solving the ghost's murder. If Laurel succeeds, the ghost will release her mother, which seems a shame, really. She's a lot nicer possessed.

What will happen when possessed Thelma attends church and mixes with her snooty friends? And what will Ian think? With the murderer still on the loose, Laurel must hurry before she becomes the next ghostly inhabitant of Witch Woods Funeral Home.

If that ever happened, there's no chance she'd possess Thelma, unsolved murder or not.

Nutty as a Payday bar!

Australia, zealots, situational-humor, murder, ghosts

If you want a mystery full of situational laughter, this is perfect! You
don't need to have read others in the series, but you probably will after
reading this one. Laurel operates the Witch Woods Funeral Home in small
town eastern Australia, and she can see and talk to ghosts as does her
boyfriend Basil. Her mother is best known for her criticisms and fanatic
religiosity which she shares with her much younger friend Ian at everyone
they meet. Now enters the ghost of recently murdered Jezza Belle, a punk
rocker who becomes so incensed with the mother that she slips in and takes
her over. You can see the potential here, but not the insane situations
that arise as Laurel and Jezza Belle investigate all the suspects and
follow the leads and red herrings.

Narration

I like this author a lot and most of the narration I’m ok but the the voice of the ghost was repellent. The long, spaced out words sort of monotonous sound was hard to listen to

Narrator . . .

Please, please, please DO NOT USE TIFFANY DOUGHERTY IN FUTURE BOOKS. The books themselves are very readable, but using an American to narrate a book set in Australia’s is SO irritating!
