Helpful for getting over breakups

Any additional comments?

Breakups are never ever going to be easy and will never be, with or without this book.

However, I can confidently and honestly say this book WILL help you a long. It came to me at a very dark time during a horrible breakup and was a life saver. It taught me how to deal with the whole situation and eventually get over it.

Thanks to the author.

75 Steps To Coping With a BreakUp

Would you consider the audio edition of Getting Over a Breakup to be better than the print version?

Yes, I do consider this to be a significant change or more impacting version of "Getting Over a Breakup" because it is vocalized and thoroughly expressed by a narrator who can RELATE to a break-up. You can feel the emotional attachment through her pinpointing exact feelings that resonate within a relationship.

Also, her tone of voice shows that she understands the hurt, sadness, anger, resentfulness, and accusations that are prevalent in relationships. Very unbiased and frighteningly truthful feedback that needs to be recognized by more couples in my opinion.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Not really a matter of characters, but the advice given is so significant that it makes you view life in a different perspective. Dwelling on the past and bringing it up in your head or to people on social media that aren't close to you, will only escalate the situation and blow it way out of proportion. It is best to acknowledge that love is a valuable experience and it may not last forever, but enforcing POSITIVE energy into the aftermath of your relationship will promote growth.

Which character – as performed by Rebekah Amber Clark – was your favorite?

The indifference of her depiction of how an ex typically acts after a break-up. Going through a break up requires an adjustment period and while enduring it, you should have a positive outlet for your sanity. Laughing, hanging out with friends, and accepting that you need a grieving period. Everyone is different with the coping methods they use, but use what is the most suitable to you.

Each performance or action demonstrated in this audio was accurate. Very resourceful and not the typical audio.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from Getting Over a Breakup?

The most important concept to apply to "Getting Over a Breakup" is your life is not over. Life is too short as it is. It's an experience and a choice that is usually more beneficial in the long run. Yes, it causes catastrophic, destructive feelings that have a short-term depression and it can alter your PERFORMANCE in everyday life to accomplish everyday tasks, but with guidance and acknowledgement you can move past it.

You need to take control of your thoughts, instead of act on emotional tangents. That is the clear and concise message this audio conveyed to me.

Any additional comments?

Focus on the one thing in your life that was just as meaningful as your ex was before your break-up. Fuel all of your animosity and negative energy into something positive. So it makes the grieving period seem non-existent.

Do not bottle up your feelings. Express yourself to someone you can trust. No matter who you are and what you've been through, we all need HELP. We all need guidance. We all need acceptance. We all need love. You are the pioneer of your own life and the decisions you make. Anyone who tells you differently is wrong!

Brilliant, really helping me move on

When I split up with my partner of 3 years, I was devastated. I had literally put everything I had into that relationship. That was 6 months ago and I ended up in a psych ward after it. I was really low and even though I'd been to counselling, I just couldn't move on. I had so many issues with that relationship that needed closure, I couldn't function normally.

I'd spent the last 6 months drifting and angry, going nowhere. I tried this audiobook on a whim and didn't expect much from it if I'm honest. I was really surprised though. I made more progress in the week I listened to this book than I did in the last 6 months, including in counselling.

The author recognises the turmoil you are going through and doesn't tell you you're wrong or to just snap out of it. It's sympathetic and helpful. It's practical advice that works in real life. Convincing me of the need to forgive and let go has allowed me to live again. I'm no longer bitter and depressed. I can see potential in the future, rather than mulling over the past.

This is, and sounds like, a wise friend sitting you down and giving you excellent advice through what is a really distressing period in your life.

Give it a try and it will make a huge difference to your life. Be open to the suggestions and carry them out, don't just listen to them. Highly recommended.

A remarkable audiobook, extremely helpful tips

Where does Getting Over a Breakup rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Breakups are common phenomena in our daily life and as an individual, I have read a couple of books, to be candid, I won't rank this audiobook as the best, but will be placed among my favorite books. Now putting others in the background and having the spotlight turned to me, this book is a very helpful book to me. I happened to have been through a lot of heartbreak, Although in the past. However, reading this book showers, light on easy ways I could have avoided the irrational attitude that almost destroys my life back then. Thank God for my life, one way or another I was able to survive. I wished I had read this book back then, might have been on the top of the list.

What other book might you compare Getting Over a Breakup to and why?

There are lots of books I would compare to this audiobook (Getting Over a Breakup), books like Fast Proven Treatments for Recovery from Low Self-Esteem by Dr. Jennifer Alison, How to Stop Procrastination & Get More Done in Less Time! By Graham Bianco, 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time by Brian Tracy and more. The reason why I would compare these books is because they are not just books. They combine writing skills with awesome tips on valuable ways every individual can overcome common occurrences happening around us. These books are EVERGREEN.

Which scene was your favorite?

All the scenes in this audiobook are my favorite, but I will put section 4 first. I try to think of everything that happened to me as destiny and the way God want it. Those situations are simply telling me I am not yet at that point I need to be, I need to move ahead to gain more experience and know much more about myself, what God wants for me and how the world works. This section simply states it clearly, you need to loose your pain and not your mind. Breakups make you very irrational but also this moment is a time to reflect on what has happened, if you are the cause of the breakup, how to avoid it happening again, but if you are not the cause of the breakup, then you need to look forward to a brighter future and how to make yourself even better than you were and to be in a better place than you were. This doesn't mean you should stalk your ex, you simply need to determine what is best for you and how to make yourself better. Stalking or trying to have your ex back could be devastating. So it's better to be yourself and not try to impress your ex or get him back to avoid further heartache.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

Section 6 of this audiobook is one idea I will always remember, this section states how to get your mind away from the painful reminders of your ex, friends, and any other close person. It is obvious we have met people who we have broken up with that make a lasting impression in our life, but at a point, the relationship suffers and then there is a breakup. This could always bring back memories of the good times even when you don't want to think about these things, it happens either due to times spent together doing some things you enjoy doing. However, this section highlights easy ways to get over painful reminders and easily come out unscathed from any type of such breakup.

Any additional comments?

Well, there are books and this is one again in the collection of my favorites. I have been through many heartbreaks, and breakups, some caused by my actions and attitude and some, I see myself as a victim and maybe not. But overall, I wished I had read this book, I would have managed those moments without getting hurt the more.

Where does Getting Over a Breakup rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 3

What did you learn from Getting Over a Breakup that you would use in your daily life?

Be positive

Any additional comments?

Very helpful in helping me to begin to healing process after a particularly hard breakup. I was a little afraid it would be full of really dumb or cliched advice but it really wasn’t. It gave me a fresh perspective and allowed me to start getting on with life, even if it is still painful and will take time.

A Break up isn't a Death Sentence -- Kate Anderson

If you could sum up Getting Over a Breakup in three words, what would they be?

Summing up a whole book as interesting as this one into three words will be a daunting task, it's got seventy five detailed points! Break ups are horrible I'll tell you that, the aftermath is depression anger, pain and much more. Finding a book that will help you deal with these issues is considered to me as a blessing. OK, my three Golden words will be; REALISTIC, HELPFUL and PRACTICAL.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Getting Over a Breakup?

"A break up is a period of transition". Sometime last year I was going through a break up, I was miserable. I had some idea of how to got through that phase but I looked at it in the wrong light. I was trying to get rid of things that reminded me of my ex, I deleted photos, messages and I also resumed taking drugs which she made me stop! I had to go through therapy to correct that. After listening to this book, I realized that deleting the messages was a good idea but taking drugs was foolish. The fourth point in the second part of this book says "Be happy about the times you share together. If your ex brought out a good side of you, that's a good thing." Reading this book has opened my eyes to a lot of things.

What does Rebekah Amber Clark bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Passion! Rebekah narrated the book like someone who had been through a lot of break ups, so the connection was there. She made me listen with my heart and the words had immense impact on me. It's easy to read someone else' script but backing it up with the right attitude and emotions is something we don't see everyday.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from Getting Over a Breakup?

The book was written in three parts. The parts were structured in such a way that applying the advice therein won't be too difficult. First you learn how to loose your pain and not your mind, only then will you be able to place focus on yourself. The previous steps prepare you for the most daunting task, getting your mind off your break up. There are times in our lives when we loose things, people that are of great value to us and it seems like the world has come to an end for us. Blinded by the grief, we fail to realize that we've gone through situations similar or much worse than what we're experiencing. It will pass away, time heals all wounds. She said "Remember, your grief will eventually go away, you will not feel like this forever." I have come to realize this and many more from Kate Anderson's book.

Any additional comments?

Going through a break up by Kate Anderson is a must have for everyone. At one point in our lives we are bound to loose someone or something dear to us. A person's orientation of life can be gravely altered if that "period of grief" is not properly handled. There are so many great points in this book for the heartbroken. Kate Anderson didn't make it seem like going through a break up is easy, She outlined important ways to handle this transition period in a considerate manner. It seems as though Kate Anderson had to go through so many break ups to bring us this amazing piece, yes that's how real it is.

i am back to being happy

Where does Getting Over a Breakup rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

this audiobook was different. it has all the elements a book should have, the tone, the beauty in the voice of the speaker, the confidence, really enjoyed listening to it. will recommend it to every person who is trying to get over a breakup.

What does Rebekah Amber Clark bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

the tone, the tone was generous, and sympathetic after listening to few steps, she made me feel as if someone close to me was consoling me in getting over the breakup part.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

never to chase your past. what's done is done, thinking "if" won't bring any difference so it is rather better to accept the fact and move on with your life.

Any additional comments?

Very helpful!! I 6 months back got out of one very serious relationship. I have been trying to get over him but all of my attempts failed. I tried everything. But everything reminds me of him. The blanket, the couch, the bed, everything. When I look myself in the mirror tears come down my eyes, I wait for him to come back grab me from back but it never happened. I missed him every single second. But not anymore. Things have changed a lot, I can feel being alive all over again. Since the day I started reading the book I followed all the instructions. Do and do not. I no longer do the desperate attempts to seduce him or I shed tears reminiscing old days. I act as if he do not exist. all of it was a good past. But I need to move forward and embrace the fact that he left and will have to get over him. I am not anymore the rude, angry, stubborn, or insane person I am a calm and mature person. By the end of the month, I hope I will be able to be the person of my own.

Extremely helpful advice.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to anyone who's hurting from a breakup. It really lifted my mood and helped me focus on myself and my future instead of obsessing over my ex.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Getting Over a Breakup?

I found the "what not to do" advice the most helpful. It showed me that some of the things I was doing (like stalking my ex online) weren't doing me any favors. I also really liked the section about things TO do. It showed me how to take better care of myself and helped me reach out to other people when I needed support.

What did you learn from Getting Over a Breakup that you would use in your daily life?

I learned how to get past my breakup and get on with my life :)

What did you love best about Getting Over a Breakup?

About 10 months ago, I went through a terrible breakup with my partner of nearly four years, and I was devastated. I purchased 4-5 books about surviving breakups, to help me get through, and this audiobook is absolutely the best. It is an easy "read" with very well explained steps to take and get past your breakup. I've listened the audiobook twice and will probably do it again. It is appropriate for any gender or age, I highly recommend it!

Extremely helpful for recovering from breakups!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to this book all in one sitting and I've gone back and listened to it a few more times as well!

Any additional comments?

This book was just what the doctor ordered. I'm a sensitive person who has been devastated by nearly every breakup I've ever gone through. My most recent breakup was by far the hardest to get over. But I'm so glad to say that I've finally found a book that's helped me to cope better. Before this book, I was really starting to give up on love but I feel like now, I'm actually ready to move on and try again. The tips and ideas in this book are unbeatable. I highly recommend it!

really helped me get closure, recommended

Any additional comments?

This ACTUALLY helped me. So much better than i expected. I literally kept doing 7 of these things that I see now were holding me up from that CLOSURE I needed to move on my ex. This book shed some much needed light on my situation...and honestly exposed a few things that I hadn't realized I was doing that kept me stuck. I was just basically giving my power away.
I'm suggesting this to a couple close friends of mine. I think they're going to find themselves in these pages as well. It was an eye opener. A great help.

This helped me so much during a very dark time

Where does Getting Over a Breakup rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of my faves because it helped me so so much at a very very bad time.

Any additional comments?

Three months ago, I went through a terrible breakup with my partner of nearly four years, and I was devastated, I thought I'd never be able to get through it. I purchased 5 books about surviving breakups, to help me get through, and this audio book turned out the best. I listened to it repeatedly as the words were so encouraging and soothing.

It was indeed my best companion all through while I was trying to heal and before I knew it I was totally back on my feet all thanks to this book. I tell anyone who feels they would never get over a break up to listen to this audio book.

It is appropriate for any gender or age, I highly recommend it to anyone going thru the horrific time of a breakup and i hope it helps u as much as it has helped me.

Helpful to get over a breakup.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was really struggling to get over my relationship after a particularly horrible breakup (I will not bore you with the details!) and i really needed something (anything!) to help me thru the pain, especially with getting a good nights sleep and how to act in public (unfortunately i still see my ex on an almost daily basis and we share a lot of the same friends). Whilst i am not exactly smiling and leaping for joy now, i can say i am definitely a lot better after listening to this book. It doesn't feel like a typical self-help style book, it just feels like a friend giving really good advice, which is probably the best we can all hope for in this situation.

Fantastic, this really helped me loads!

Would you listen to Getting Over a Breakup again? Why?

Yes. I have listened to it 3 times so far.
Why? Because dealing with heart break is not easy. It can be very very difficult. We all need help on the journey.

Any additional comments?

Dealt with two horrific breakups in 3 years. This book helped me so much to deal with the anguish. Did it cure everything with one listen? Of course not! But it DID really help me get on the journey to feeling better. I have listened to this book several times and it has been a life saver at times to keep me sane on the journey to getting over it.

Definitely recommending this for anyone dealing with a breakup and all the horrible feelings that go along with it.

A book that helped save myself.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Why wouldn't I? This book is spectacular in every sense and I recommend it to each and every person inflicted with a breakup.

What about Rebekah Amber Clark’s performance did you like?

The way she expressed her emotions made me feel as if she was a person who could console me. She really was effective at her task.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Break up, Get over it.
This perfectly fits as it definitely shows us how to get over it and a person trying the tips out can try these methods.

Any additional comments?

I want to be quite open at the moment and the time at which the author states that men might never get over a relationship makes me feel so happy that my ex is in for a sad day.
