Der Jahre später Deutschland verlässt und ins Exil geht, weil die Nazis "seiner Nase nicht passten", weil er Stellung bezieht, für sich und sein Gewissen. Die Aufzeichnung gilt als der bedeutendste Fund in Haffners Nachlass.
