I just had to do this review...
I have read all the reviews on this book and was very disappointed in the comments, "too much Jesus," "to preachy," "didn't know it was going to be a religious book," and so on. Well, I just have to say, you must not know anything about this author! Rachel Hauck is a Christian and displays her faith in all of her books. That's what makes Rachel Hauck different. She can take a Southern young professional woman who knows the Lord and totally depends on His plan for her life. The character in Georgia on Her Mind is just this kind of young woman. She has disappointments and she turns to Jesus, she has lost her job and she turns to Jesus, she has a breakup and she turns to Jesus, she leads her other than ordinary neighbor to Christ. And in the end, she finds herself in the middle of His Will and the happiest she's ever been. That's how it is when we follow His lead, we end up right where we are supposed to be. I don't understand why you would have read this book by Rachel Hauck if you don't know that she brings Glory to God in all of her books. Thank you, Rachel, for another great book and a reminder that we are called to follow Him wherever He leads.

Clean, sweet story
Good story about close friends and tough choices. First book to I’ve had from Rache Hauck, will look for more. And Amanda Ronconi is always great.

Christian but NOT a romance
The writer is excellent with characterization and weaving stories together. I thought this was a romance but of the 8+ hours I am guessing less than 1/2 hour was spent on only hinting about the possibility of romance. It was about 6 hours of trying to decide what job she should take... about 4 hours more than needed. Good author ... just not what I expected.

Ronconi can’t save this one
Amanda Ronconi’s narration is excellent, as always. However, even her performance can’t make up for the bizarre first person, present tense writing, which was jarring and repeatedly pulled me out of the story. There are some interesting moments, but the heavy religious theme came out of nowhere. It had the potential to be a good story, but it was just too irritating to get through.

Too religious for a fun Chick lit
I think I would have really enjoyed the story if all the religious rhetoric were dialed down

Nice, uncomplicated listen.
I was unaware that this was a Christian book and the references to God and that Jesus loves us were a bit redundant to me, but I enjoyed the book. It was an easy listen. The narrator was great!

Amanda Ronconi why would you ambush us this way?
I was only able to listen to 30 minutes of this book. Amanda Ronconi is my favorite narrator and most of books have been great. This one was really religious and it wasn't advertised as such. Christian fiction is a genre but ya gotta warn a gal that's what shes getting.

Has potential to be good but...
Literally every other word is god, Jesus or pray. Way to preachy. The performance is good but the story is just obnoxious to listen too with the main character is not able to make her own decisions.

Not worth the time
This is one of the worst books I have listened to / read in a long time. The lead character is a whiny, preachy, selfish, and entitled person and not at all likeable. The only reason I trudged through the whole novel was the captivating narration by the incredibly talented and engaging Amanda Ranconi.
