Publisher's Summary

Still struggling from the effects of an abusive relationship?

Many people do and sadly there is very little information available to be found online or in the written research, or with counselors and therapists that can help. The Gaslight Effect is not officially recognized, nor is it widely even known.

Even when it is accepted, recognized and known, not many people seem to know what to do about it to heal it.... The fact is being in a relationship with a narcissist over a long period of time has long lasting traumatic effects that can be extremely catastrophic to the person suffering them.

Do the following symptoms sound familiar?

  • Doubting yourself and your sanity
  • Feeling like you’re losing your mind
  • Feeling like you’re always apologizing
  • You’re second-guessing your memory
  • Feeling like you aren’t good enough
  • Feeling misunderstood
  • Feeling lonely
  • Ruined self confidence
  • Extreme weight loss or weight gain
  • Uncharacteristic jealousy/insecurity
  • Feeling like you don’t know the difference between right and wrong
  • Extreme paranoia (being turned into an obsessive detective)
  • Endless, repetitive obsessive thinking about your ex
  • Constantly trying to find explanations for what has happened
  • Feelings of helplessness and despair
  • A desire to self-isolate
  • Feeling desperately misunderstood
  • Overwhelming feelings of loss and grief
  • Extreme bouts of rage
  • An inability to be comfortable with yourself
  • Strange dreams
  • Sudden inexplicable anxiety followed by rapid dips into depression
  • The list goes on....

“Nobody understands!” I hear this frustrated cry from abused people a lot.

Gaslighting is a covert aggressive way of distorting another person’s perception of reality to the point that that person questions their sanity or their memory.

Gaslighting is crazy-making, it makes you think that you’re actually going crazy.

Gaslighting is a way of hiding the abuse.

Gaslighting is lying with a goal.

The motive behind the gaslighting is to make you think that you’re crazy or that your memory doesn’t work right. So you can’t trust yourself and your perceptions of reality.

This means you’ll defer to the abuser for an account of what’s real so slowly over time the abuser becomes the authority over your life.

Gaslighting takes place in relationships, like one-on-one relationships. It takes place in friendships, in family, in work, you’ll see gaslighting on the news, you’ll hear gaslighting coming from politicians, corporate shills, cult leaders, advertising commercials, etc.

What you will learn:

  • Top 10 signs you're being manipulated with gaslighting
  • 80 things narcissists say during gaslighting
  • Six empowering ways to disarm a narcissist and take control
  • How to avoid mental manipulation
  • How to deal with the effects of gaslighting
  • How narcissists employ smart devices

 What you need now:

  • Someone who has been through the same experiences you have and understands them from the inside
  • Someone who has the knowledge, training, education, and experience working on himself and others to lead you through the emotional sh*tstorm that breaking with a narcissist can create

I can’t promise you that listening to this audiobook is going to be a “total cure”, but I can promise that if you apply yourself dilligently, take notes, listen and re-listen the sections, follow all instructions to the letter, with a  tenacious resolve to get better you will feel an instant decrease in anxiety within the first 24 hours and should see huge improvements within the first three days.

This is not hype, this is what my audience commonly reports.

Topical and specific.

Sufferers of abuse will find this mapping of the emotional violence administered and the underlying motivation of the all to abundant purveyors of this social disorder an excellent mirror to aid in the recognition of their own reactions to abuse. Narcissists of course won’t read it because as they say, “I’m not narcissistic!”

A well balanced book.

A well balanced book. A lot of important information gathered in this book. I was actually impressed by how much useful information squeezed in such a short book. This book described every single thing very clearly with some proper explanations. Such an excellent book.

Stop scrolling and buy this: Life Changing

I have read many books on the issue and this one is the best. It is clear and hits the mark on what gaslighting is and how to recognize and recover.

I liked the helpful insights in this book. I would like more examples of relationship interactions. The book uses a handful over and over again to illustrate points and explain emotional situations.

I really love this audio book

Being able to understand how certain individuals may affect your general wellbeing is vital. One of the most important aspects was understanding that gaslighting can happen in nonrelational settings and target men as well.

This book is a must for anyone who’s questioned or is questioning the health of a relationship, including politicians who represent us. There are lots of easy to listen descriptions, quotes, behaviors to watch for and ways the listening can deal or get out of the relationship. A whole section of resources is also provided for additional national help.

Best Book I have ever purchased

I’m only half way through this book and I had to pause it to stop and do a review (I have never ever done that, for anyone or anything). If this author could have had what I imagine as a ‘football playbook’ of playbook of exactly what my 7 year relationship and marriage to my narcissist was like in a detailed step by step, play by play, this would be it. It is absolutely crazy to hear her go through each and every detail and step and progression and systematically lay them out but the fact that every single one of those plays and in that order is what happened to me, and I can tie each and every step - no matter how small or big - to that exact moment in my life that happened to me as well, is maddening and a relief at the same time. This is going to be my new “bible.” Anyone having relationship problems this book Is a great way to learn the signs of abusive/narcissist men so you can get out before it’s too late.

Seriously thank you for this book!!!!

Excellent audible book

Absolutely great listen. It described our neighbor perfectly. We thought about moving, but are learning to turn the tables on the neighbor, so that he no longer can impose his sense of self-entitled reality. Just a nice audible book.

Awesome listen book

The cerebral narcissist is tied in with awing others with their psychological ability. They are commonly exceptionally careful about their appearances and will successfully keep up their looks. I need to incline toward this book listen for individuals. Thankful!

no gaslighter has hope of redemption

i found myself exhibiting gaslighting behaviour towards my wife, and also experienced the behaviour from colleagues. i bought the book to try and pinpoint these issues in myself to address them, and this book feels like it states that people who gaslight cannot be helped. i want help, and nowhere on the market has a book to help me.

performance was robotic, not my preference of audio experience.

Great listen!

I devoured this book overnight. It's a great insight into the world of people with personality disorders. It goes into a lot of depth on what signs to look for. It primarily goes over recovering from the abuse, which is why I purchased it, to begin with. Great listen!

Well explaining to listeners.

Of all the books I've listened to on the subject, this one was the most helpful. It made the most sense and it allowed me to step outside my perspective and see someone else's. is supportive and empathetic while explaining to listeners, in very specific detail, how they can recover from an abusive relationship.

This book gives good examples.

This book gives good examples of how it can happen in your life and in various settings. The recovery process described here can give a clear path to survivors. It was encouraging for me to see where I am located and what I need to to get fully recovered.

I wish I could give this book a million stars.

I wish I could give this book a million stars. No one truly understands abuse like this unless they have experienced it. This book clarified so many things that other licensed professionals could not relate to when I tried to explain. It gives me hope we will actually be well again one day, as I recognize the stages.

Powerful tool

I cried while I was listening to this book. It validated ME as a person. A person that has been made to feel like I am always wrong. Always less than. Always the problem. Always thinking in a warped way that NOBODY else agrees with. Wow. This book is an exact reflection of my marriage.
