Publisher's Summary

Written by the renowned Fyodor Dostoyevsky, a maker of classics and a literary genius, each of his works offers a powerful and thought-provoking exploration of human nature, philosophy, society, and religion.

Inside this collection of timeless masterpieces, you’ll find three of Dostoyevsky’s most famous works - the gripping, drama-packed The Brothers Karamazov; a powerful account of a naive prince returning to his homeland and finding a world ready to take advantage of him in The Idiot; and finally, a deep and thought-provoking novel about an impoverished student who, upon pushing himself to murder to get by, struggles with the guilt and ramifications as his actions and beliefs haunt him in the 1866 novel Crime and Punishment.

Standing the test of time, each of Dostoyevsky’s renowned works reflect his masterfulness in prose, character, and offer a harsh reflection of 19th century Russian life and the nation’s tremulous past.

Bad narrator

This comes down to personal preference, but this narrator is terrible... doesn't sound like he is telling a story, more like reading an advertisement the whole time. Couldn't listen for long.

Very challenging but full of philosophical gems

It can be very painstaking to listen to at times as often the stories resort to listing every thought of the main characters. Sometimes to great affect and other times less so. These stories also serve as a window to the past.

Bland Reader

I'd like to offer a review of the Audible book "Fyodor Dostoyevsky Collection." The audiobook experience can greatly depend on the narrator, and in this case, the reader's performance left much to be desired. The reader's delivery was notably monotonous and lacking in engagement, making it difficult to maintain interest throughout the listening experience.

Fyodor Dostoyevsky's works are renowned for their profound philosophical themes, but in this audiobook, the philosophical discussions may have been presented in a way that felt prolonged and repetitive. The slow pace at which the narrative progressed, with characters frequently expressing their thoughts and ideas at length, could be challenging for listeners seeking a more dynamic and concise storytelling style.

In conclusion, while the content of the "Fyodor Dostoyevsky Collection" may have its merits, the audiobook's overall appeal was hampered by a reader whose delivery I can only describe as bland and by pacing that could test the patience of many listeners. Choosing the right narrator for such intricate and philosophical literature is crucial to ensuring an enjoyable audiobook experience.
