Publisher's Summary

After months of refusing, I finally agreed to make the move to Alrick Falls. My family thought it was best - that a new scene would be good for me - and I was sick of having the same conversation.

So here I am, and the plan is simple. Smile through each day and avoid her at all costs. It's perfect. Until the cocky quarterback comes into play.

The last thing I want is his crooked grin and dark brown eyes focused on me. Yet here he is, constantly in my space, pushing me, daring me to care. Telling me what I think and feel, as if he knows. He doesn't know anything. And I plan to keep it that way.

He's the persistent playboy who refuses to walk away. I'm the impassive new girl with nothing left to give. Things are about to get complicated.

Contains mature themes.

Touchdown!!

I really loved this one! I don’t know how I missed this debut by Meagan Brandy back in 2017 but either way, I’m happy to have read it now.

CJ Bloom & Alexander Cendrese did a fabulous job narrating! CJ Bloom was perfect as Kalani and I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for other books narrated by her! Alexander’s female character voice made me giggle. For me, I found it humorous but I can see how others might get annoyed by it.

Moving on...with Fumbled Hearts, you get a high school romance that will make your heart soar AND ache within the same chapter. Kalani is a strong heroine who has dealt with a lot of loss in her life. The details of her past are kept hidden and when revealed, bring a better understanding to her character.

And ya know what...I liked that Kalani was the broken one. She was the one reluctant to trust and love. Usually it’s the other way around in romance..the Hero/Male Main Character is the broken one..jaded and closed off from love. Well, Meagan Brandy flipped the script on us and damn did it deliver!

Didn’t seem like teenagers or high schoolers

Yet, the drama and source of conflict was definitely juvenile
Loved the female character but unrealistic

Nice book

I like everything about this book I makes me cry and also bring me back down memory lance . However, I don’t like bullies and that character Olivia is a major BITCH and that guy JARRID but true love always win in the end.
I just recommend this book to a couple of my friends and I have it five stars. I’m just said I can’t fine a second part for PARKER aka Hero story where is it please he deserves to be happy too.

CJ Bloom and Alexander Cendese were perfection

The new girl and the playboy. The tough girl and the football star. Lolli and Nate. Kalani (Lolli) has moved next door to her cousin after losing her parents and her grandfather for her senior year. She's beautiful, intelligent, independent, and sassy. She's unapologetic and lives by her own rules and this includes not letting anyone close. Her walls are high and impenetrable. But the high school football star-playboy sets his sights on her. And he's not backing down.

I like Meagan Brandy. I like her stories. The characters are over-the-top and they're unrealistic but they are absolutely entertaining. I liked Lolli despite her brusqueness. I warmed up to Nate. I am not a fan of the manwhore. Sleeping with multiple girls in one night and not even remembering who they were is not sexy or attractive. His character matured and he became likable. Nate's parents were unexpectedly awesome, Parker was an absolute sweetheart, Liv was the perfect girl to hate, and the assorted classmates all played their roles nicely. The character I could not come to terms with was Mia. She first seemed vapid and flighty, then I thought she would be a good friend but in the end, she was the worst kind of girl. If someone can make her look sympathetic and likable instead of self-absorbed and faithless, please reach out to me.

This story worked for me for most of the book. Yes, the kids were wealthy and had too much privilege. Yes, there was no supervision. Yes, it got repetitive. Breakfast, movies, sex, party, sex, sleep. Fiction. However, it lost me from spring break on. Nate was wrong. Mia was wrong. Out. Of. Line. That they behaved how they did on a birthday/anniversary was unforgivable. Even worse was that Lolli took part of the responsibility for what happened. NO! Kalani may not have been everyone's cup of tea but she softened throughout the year. Even if she hadn't she can't be judged for her earlier actions and her personality when the two people she trusted most, the two people she was closest to, the man she loved and her cousin both turned on her and let her down. Jealousy. Pettiness. Immaturity. This is all on Nate and Mia and for Kalani to accept any blame makes me crazy. I'm not saying never forgive. I'm saying there was a right side and a wrong side. Don't sugarcoat it and make them work to be worthy of you. The story fumbled right here.

CJ Bloom and Alexander Cendese were perfection as these characters.

One of my favorites

I love this book. I don’t even care how unrealistic it is, or how corny and dramatic it is. I love it.

Funny and great story

Love a strong heroine. She’s funny, smart and a badass. I love that she’s not weak, she doesn’t cry and has lots of witty comebacks. Great book!

Feel Good Romance

Fumbled Hearts was a nice new adult sports romance. I understand these characters are in high school, but it really didn't feel like I was reading about teenagers. I felt like they were college kids. It was entertaining and quite a shift from the Brayshaw series. This one is a lighter, sweeter, more fun, feel good romance. I definitely loved Kalani who was way more mature than you'd expect her to be. She was a great character and I liked how she fell for Nate.

CJ Blood and Alexander Cendese were a good combo for this story. This was something nice and light to get me through the day.

New girl meets playboy with a twist

Loved this audio book I am on my third time listen. Sometimes we all need a light hearted romance and this ticks all the boxes. Of course it has its ups and downs as do all romances novels to keep us entertained. The concept is unique and there is so much fire between the lead characters. And with the wonderful CJ Bloom narrating it’s a pleasure to listen to.

Raw, sweet, sexy, and real!

I just got done with this book and I have to say I really enjoyed it. It's hard to believe this is Meagan Brandy's first book - watch for this name, she's going to take the book world by storm - having just read her third book and been blown away, I know this to be true. She makes her characters work hard for their HEA. Which, personally, I love. I'm a big fan of NA romances and this can be added to the list of must reads. It's raw, it's sweet, it's sexy, it's real, and it's emotional. A wonderful mix that will keep you turning the page.

I didn't really like Kalani to begin with, but, as the book progressed and you could see and feel her change and open up, and feel, I changed my mind. I think it's easy to forget how young these characters really are, and what she was dealing with, well, it makes sense that she was so closed off. I ended up rooting and cheering for her. Even crying for her. The development of her character throughout the book was astounding. The side characters are something special - I want each of them to have a book, well, maybe not Liv. She can burn. Jarrod? Hmm, maybe the right woman could redeem him...no? But, my boy, Parker has a book next and I already have it queued up. You may notice that I've failed to mention Nate so far, you know what they say, save the best till last, and this boy...man, he is the best. I just loved him so much. He's your typical playboy, but he's also not. I adored him. I wanted to slap him upside the head a couple of times, but overall, I just loved him. He was sweet and he not only understood Kalani, but in essence, he saved her. And it was beautiful.

Make sure you have a fan ready for the sexy times, because, hot doesn't even begin to describe those scenes. My Kindle might have scorch marks, I have to check. If it doesn't, it's a miracle. Who knew teenagers could be so sexy? The best part though? That they fit perfectly with the story and the characters, you believed it. It was very real.

I enjoyed CJ Bloom's performance, I think she nailed Kalani. You could feel the uncertainty of the character shine through in the performance. And I thought she performed the growth of the character really well. It was a joy to listen to. This was my first time listening to Alexander Cendese and I have to be honest, I wasn't a fan of his female voice...at all. I found myself wondering if I should switch to the book and read the parts he was narrating, but, I actually liked his voice for Nate and thought he did a great job of showing the different emotions the character was experiencing. I think had this been a duet, or even an MM book his voice would have been suited fine, but, I just couldn't get along with the female voice - it just doesn't suit his range. The production was fine with no issues of note.
