Publisher's Summary

He’s lost in the past.
She’s lost in the mission.
When they’re lost in space, will love find them?

Maisy Cunningham was the youngest doctor to graduate from the Fleet Academy, but that doesn’t stop the rest of the crew from treating her like a helpless little sister. Maisy’s had enough of their coddling and volunteers to take a dangerous assignment on a rebel spaceship with a bunch of pirates to prove she’s just as strong and capable as the rest of the Earther crew.

Frrar sticks to engineering, though he finds himself repairing things in the Galaxos sickbay with surprising regularity. It’s definitely not because he's fighting his instincts to seduce the ship's doctor. But when sweet, beautiful Maisy volunteers to work on his brother’s pirate ship, Frrar insists on accompanying her to protect her - even if it means confronting his brother about his past crimes.

Maisy is ready for adventure, even with Frrar and his brother at each other’s throats the entire journey. But when the pirates attack a neutral ship and steal powerful weapons, she realizes she might have bitten off more than she can chew. The pirates are ready to sell the weapons to the evil Alliance, and only Maisy and Frrar can stop them from destroying the rebellion forever - if they survive the pirate captain marooning them both in space.

very different heroine

well maisy is definitely at the other end of the scale compared to the other heroines.
her naivety pushes her headlong into danger.
the plotline was awesome again as like book 2 it was a side adventure. however unlike the other books, maisys character was written a bit too naive and innocent, for me anyway. it took away from the angst and frustrated me instead.
the steamy scene was not, in my opinion, in a place that added to the flow of the story. I just couldn't agree with this turn. not to mention this steam scene wasn't quite like the others. and there was a task that maisy should have done instead of steamy time which wanted me to slap her. And the H just got in the mood instead of trying to get her safe. but he is a barbarian. can't say much without spoilers.
this book introduced a character that was almost a 'red herring ' but added to the plot. but considering how the other books were written this tone felt totally different. I just failed to connect with these 2 main characters it felt emotionally choppy to me.
There were lies riddled throughout this story and when the plan goes awry the h just keeps on keeping on. wtf! Gah! I'm not really feeling for Maisy in this story.
Overall this was a more family oriented plotline which is not really amongst my go to listens.
Although Frrar's character kinda reminded me of trazzak but not as intense. he definitely is direct and likes to tinker!
The mission Maisy set out on, had a lot of suspense and twists but the way the story was put together wasn't as flowing as the others. there were a few holes albeit minor. this book kinda finishes with an open ending. not a cliffhanger, just questions still out there.
Rachel Music was outstanding as usual and her persona of maisy conjoured her up perfectly .
the production, for the first time in this series, had some glitches. nothing that makes you lose anything though.
all that said it's my least favourite of the series so far.
