Fritz Muliars persönliche Erlebnisse in der Zeit der Kriegsgefangenschaft in Auxerre in den Jahren 1942-43. Für den gerade 23 Jahre alten Jungschauspieler kam seine Zeit in Frankreich anfangs einem Abenteuer gleich. Dies spiegelt sich auch in den heiteren Texten wider. Mit seiner Inhaftierung, aufgrund des Vorwurfs der "Wehrkraftzersetzung" und der drohenden Hinrichtung traf ihn die Härte des Krieges mit voller Wucht. Mehrere Monate saß er in Auxerre in Einzelhaft. In dieser Zeit entstanden die düsteren Passagen dieses Hörbuchs. Fritz Muliar schrieb auch Liedtexte voller Sehnsucht nach seinem Wien, zwei davon wurden speziell für dieses Hörbuch von Gidon Oechsner vertont - jeweils gesungen von Ulrike Beimpold und Martin Muliar.
