Guillermo Del Toro grew up in Mexico. His film Pan's Labyrinth (which he wrote and directed) won three Academy Awards. It's now out on DVD. He also wrote and directed the films Cronos, Hellboy, and The Devil's Backbone, and directed the films Blade II and Mimic.
