About this listen

This book is a book about how to integrate our theology and interpretation of the Bible with present-day culture challenges.

The Bible is an ancient text written in cultural settings that are very different than ours today. So, what do you do when you're stuck when trying to apply the Bible in today's world? At the heart of this book is the question, "How do you bring the wisdom of the Bible to address a specific problem when the Bible does not give a clear answer, or where the situation is radically different from that in the Bible?" Another way of summarizing the book is found in the title and subtitle: "What freedom does the Bible give us to develop appropriate and helpful approaches (and applications) in any culture setting?" Thus, this book is a book about decision-making and how to apply an ancient Bible in modern times. It will guide you through the decision-making paradigm and give you six principles that provide safety (range of interpretation) and guide you through a better and safer way of solving and addressing complex issues found in modern culture. It is written for the average Christian with little or no theological training. The first chapter has some more complex concepts, but after that it is much easier to understand.
