This felt like one of those books that try to be hardcore mafia only for it to turn out as a fluff piece. To many eyerolls happened with this storyline because the plot was boring as anything but I'm too nosey for my own good and need to know what happens in book 2 and it's narrated by Aiden Snow sooo... 🙃

Unsuspecting Luca Davis is a Yale medical student who is snatched from his humdrum life by a bunch of mafiosi led by Domenico Rossetti, crown prince to his father’s criminal empire. No matter how much he protests, Luca can’t make Dom understand that he knows nothing about their rival family, the Fiores, and there’s no way that Luca could be the heir to the Fiores empire. While captive and captor hate each other with a passion, it’s not long before other passions arise.

I recently loved a mafia series but this one fell flat for me. I felt frustrated by the VERY-slow burn and the danger felt tepid most of the time. Like Luca, I was also super frustrated by the lack of explanation about why Luca had been targeted and being constantly told, “It’s none of your business”, when it patently was his business drove me and him to distraction. 🎧 The deep voice of Aiden Snow on the audio was the best thing about this!
