Paranormal Outlaws

Forbidden Bonds (Immortal Curse Series, Book 2) forges ahead with betrayal & romance in this immortal realm. Broken trust, no liberty and bound by duties this one features from book one Tom, & Amelia a prisoner in the CRF who's unlikely attraction forges them to go on a adventurist journey. A magical cosmos with Fledglings, Hydraians, Ichorians, and Sentinels in a descriptively detailed cosmos. The writing style captures the essence of writing with panache & suspenseful subterfuge twists trickling through the pages. Character's that you are drawn to, an escape with outlaws, & continuous intrigue encircling the narrative.

Narator Joel Froomkin pitches a captivating performance. I love his mechanics of his voice & english accent. Although, I would have preferred a female narrator for the female character voices. Overall, a well articulated performance.

Am addicted!

O wow, I believe book 2 was even better than book one! I am addicted to this series! I couldn’t go to sleep until I finished this book. It was so captivating from start to finish!

Although this is a return listen to the author and narrator, I swear it just got better! I can’t wait to listen to the next book, but to be honest if the release date isn’t soon, I might even read the rest, that is how good this is! I haven’t read a book in more than five years!

Just listen to it! No specific recommendations from me, anyone and everyone should listen to it!

Fantastic storyline

This book has a fantastic storyline. Brilliant characters with plenty of chemistry. But what really makes the difference is Joel, he gives the characters such great personalities.

Awesome series!

I listened to the audio and the narrator did a good job. I do wish the female narrator from the first book did this one too, but it was still a good listen. The narrator is a little formal sounding, but he does a solid performance and the quality is good.

Loved the unique ideas in both this book and the first book. Very entertaining and I really enjoy the writing. Love the action and the characters. I was hoping there would be a bit more from Astasiya and Issac from the first book; more of them involved in finding and saving Amelia. What happens is still interesting and I loved the connection between Tom and Amelia. I’d definitely recommend reading the first book before this one because it’s awesome and the story continues on from the first book, but there are different main characters. Amelia has been a prisoner of Tom’s father for years; she’s been tortured in horrible ways, it was so sad how much she’s been through. Tom knew she was a prisoner, but he’s naive to just how depraved his father truly is. Amelia is quite the damsel; before she was taken, everyone treated her like a fragile little princess, so she really needed to toughen up. With Tom’s help, she does start to become more than just a damsel. He’s really sweet with her. I’m excited to see where this series goes! So far, I’ve loved it!

My heart....

Tom is presented with a choice -
One will cost him his life
The other? His soul

It just keeps getting better!
In Blood Laws (book one) Foss introduced us to a world of paranormal intrigue and suspense that would satisfy even the most fastidious of readers
With book 2 she has gone one step further - Intrigue - subterfuge - suspense - kick @ss heroines - sarcasm -romance - this series has it all and so much more.
It turns out the enemy may possibly be our friend and our friend may possibly be our enemy- or we quite possibly may be being played on all sides - I am not telling -Nice try though ;)
So many secrets are revealed and old questions answered - though with each new revelation comes more questions
Foss takes us further into the world of the Hydrians and their ways. We even get to go to the island - meet the elders - and that cliff hanger in book 1 - yeah we get answers and so much more than we bargained for!
Definitely, recommend this series if you are a fan of the DH or the Brotherhood or even the Lords -
Foss has and is taking the time to build a superior series - one that any paranormal fan would be proud to read and own

Fantastic story!💜

I absolutely loved this story. Well written, fun yet angsty storyline. Amazing characters and a few surprises I do d not see coming.
The narration was brilliant. Joel Froomkin absolutely nailed these characters. There were so many and each with unique voices, accents & personality. Well done!
This is book 2 in a continuing series.
I recommend this book/series.

Good continuation of the series

This is a nice addition to the ongoing series. I liked that this answered some previous cliffhangers but didn’t leave too many more. Narration is very good.

Love this series

Tom is tasked to watch the CRF call an asset but he can’t get past how she’s been tortured and abused by his Father.
Amelia tries her hardest not to see Tom as anything but the monster she thinks he is but it’s not working.
Tom and Amelia start a forbidden relationship and have to go on the run to escape his psychotic Father.
Loved how this book showed us a all new side to Tom and made me realise he’s just another pawn in his fathers sick game.

Wow

This one is just so enjoyable the story seems to just be ramping up. I’m loving the characters and how they interact but also the quiet strength that so many of them possess. I loved seeing the relationship blossom between these two incredibly broken characters and seeing how they are going to overcome their difficulties

A thrilling, gripping read!

I loved this book, the characters continue to appeal and draw you into their wonderful fantasy world, I am hopelessly invested in their lives and addicted to this series. Tom and Amelia's story is touching and difficult to read in places due to the abuse they both suffered at Jonathon's hands, and in Amelia's case it goes to a dark place. I just hope there is a very 'interesting' future for Jonathon - he's definately a villain we all love to hate, and who does he answer to?! I can't wait to start book 3, and find out what's next and to enjoy more from these two narrators.

Secrets starts to unfold and nothing is as it seems.

Joel made a better impression on me as Tom than he did Isaac previously, but not quite so much with Amelia unfortunately. This is purely down to the the fact I’m British and not so hot on the typical British stereotype type being used.

As for the the narration of Tom and some of the Elders he did good.

As for the story itself......

This series is really starting to unfold.

Tom and Amelia’s is one of learning to trust when you have been broken almost to the point of no return. Taking you to some dark places in your mind.

Working out what’s truth and lies is the hardest part.

Amelia’s been through so much in the 6 years she’s been taken, and still there’s more to come.

Tom’s given the responsibility to ensure the asset is kept out of sight, whilst still enduring testing, however he’s not entirely happy with the situation....any of it.

Secrets starts to unfold and nothing is as it seems.

This was a great read, more of the lies are unveiled, giving you pieces of the bigger picture, but still not enough, so many questions unanswered, leaving you wanting more. Can’t wait to jump into Blood Heart

The Series Continues to impress.

Forbidden Bonds is a sexy, exciting second book in the Immortal Curse series. I am listening to this series in audiobook format via Audible. I highly rated Blood Laws, the first book in this series, and as always when reading a series, I had some seriously high expectations here.

The plot thickens in Forbidden Bonds and I was captured straight away and right to the end I was entranced by this paranormal romance. I like recurring characters and getting to see different sides of them during a series as they step forward as the main characters and this story delivers on all fronts. I didn't get a sense that I knew Tom well from the previous book but now he steps into the forefront and a character that I was meh about previously became my latest obsession. The abundance of great characters make Forbidden Bonds a smorgasbord of characters that I want to know better.

Now for the narration, Joel Froomkin returns to the series and spins a great yarn. His characterisation is just fantastic and brings Ms Foss' characters to life, their personalities are well acted and I was completely captivated.

Forbidden Bonds delivers a great story and leaves me wanting more.

Lifetime of Lies Leads to a Journey of Healing

Forbidden Bonds is an intense, suspenseful, fast paced story. A story of finding truth, making a stand, love and healing.
Tom and Amelia’s tale shattered my heart but slowly piece by piece mended it.
I really loved the support and acceptance they found along the way where it was least expected.
I truly enjoyed going on this journey with them.

Brilliant pnr series - loved the narrator

5+ superb audio stars
I read and loved this book over 2 years ago when it first released, but got the opportunity to listen to the audio and I have fallen in love with these characters all over again. The narrator Joel Froomkin was excellent (he also narrated Blood Laws) and was very good at differentiating the characters voices, even the females :-) I remembered the bones of the story, but listening to it again has filled back in all the details and depths of emotion that had faded over time and that Lexi C Foss is so good at delivering. This really is a fabulous pnr series, one of my all-time favourites. I'm hoping there will be more of the series put into audio because I want to listen to more!

Original Review:
Lexi C Foss certainly knows how to build a world you want to live in and write characters who intrigue you and question all the things you think you know about them. Then before you realise, they're under your skin, in your head and have captured your heart.
This happened for me with Tom and Amelia (and one or two of the supporting crew...Oh B where are you in my life!!). Tom hadn't been one of my favourites from Blood Laws, but I think maybe that was the plan all along, after all with an Ichorian father, whose side was he really on?

Forbidden Bonds continues right after the events in Blood Laws (so should really be read first). As punishment, Tom is sent on a "baby sitting" mission to a place that haunts him, with an important asset he's been secretly trying to protect. Amelia, has suffered so much, but together, they need to learn to trust each other to survive.

I loved this book as much as the first, it has action, intrigue, tension, passion, heart ache and a story line that hooked me in from the start. The way their characters developed and their relationship grew was beautiful, but so hard at times when it's revealed what both have been through and the betrayals they've suffered. I'd also love to meet the Hydraians, the banter between them relieves the tension and Balthazar is certainly a scene stealer! Can't wait for more of the Immortal Curse series, I thoroughly recommend it.
