Wonderful Story Beautifully Told!

If you could sum up Five Go Adventuring Again in three words, what would they be?

Charming adventure story for kids! A real treasure of a story that rightfully belongs in the repertoire of every child's youth.

Who was your favorite character and why?

George, a lovely young girl who is not afraid to be herself and Timmy her dog whose fidelity and charm are timeless.

What about Jan Francis’s performance did you like?

The performance was excellent. Classy, crisp and yet filled with heartfelt emotion.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Get ready for the adventure of your life!

Any additional comments?

PLEASE record all of the books in this series. It is heartbreaking that there are only two audiobooks available of the 21 Famous Five books written by Enid Blyton.

Blyton Remains great

Jan Francis does the Famous five justice with her performance. This classic remains great and can't wait for the rest of the series to be in audiobook format.

Please don't alter the original text!

The Five didn't wear jeans! Do wish text wasn't changed, really doesn't fit with the story. Please keep the original text as written. Each changed word jars horribly. Still enjoyable otherwise and takes one back to originally reading in the 1940's

Another gem of a book

Jan Francis is quite literally a phenomenon!
Her elocution is flawless, dictation impeccable and her warm affectionate tone is perfectly matched to Enid’s work.
Which whilst dated in parts (it was written in the 1940’s, so not exactly surprising!) still contains a compelling & engaging narrative.
Some of the characters could also do with more polish but again. I suspect that’s a era issue rather than a flaw per se.
Get this book! You will love it!

Enjoyable Storytelling

Really enjoyable story from a much gentler era. Easy to follow and easy to listen to.

Superb reading by Jan Francis just adds to the quality of this..

Recommended.. especially for a rainy Sunday afternoon.

Another classic story from Enid.

Bit of a slow burner, and most of the action happens in the last third of the book. Although I listen for the nostalgic effect. loved being transported to the 1940s. Having a good experience revisit the famous five series

A Festive Season Adventure

This book, like all the other books in the series is a stand alone one or, like me, you can read the series in the order the books come. However if you do want this as a stand alone read I'd recommended if you're looking for something seasonable for the Christmas period, Anne, Dick and Julian find themselves back with George at Kirrin Cottage for the Christmas holidays and are soon started on another adventure. There's never a dull moment with these five characters so sit back, start the book and leave the rest to Jan Francis.

great story

Riveting for the whole family-friendly 6 to 48! I have avoided Einid Blyton for fear of the racism that is reportedly expressed in some of her books. Not in this book thankfully and we all loved it.
