Publisher's Summary

Finding Stevie is a dark and poignant true story that highlights the dangers lurking on online.

When Stevie’s social worker tells Cathy, an experienced foster carer, that Stevie, 14, is gender fluid she isn’t sure what that term means and looks it up.

Stevie, together with his younger brother and sister, have been brought up by their grandparents, as their mother is in prison. But the grandparents can no longer cope with Stevie’s behaviour, so they place him in care.

Stevie is exploring his gender identity, and like many young people he spends time online. Cathy warns him about the dangers of talking to strangers online and advises him how to stay safe. When his younger siblings tell their grandmother that they have a secret they can’t tell, Cathy is worried. However, nothing could have prepared her for the truth when Stevie finally breaks down and confesses what he’s done.

Great listen

Another wonderful book by Cathy Glass. Many of the current issues facing teens were the main subjects in this book. I can't recommend Cathy Glass' books highly enough.

gender fluidity and teenage angst

another great read by Cathy. Once again she shows us a child who is lost and becomes their light to find their way. Stevie was lucky to have you in his corner every step of the way. with your expertise and professionalism, you not only saved him, but his family too :) strong work!

Good not great

Another fine story from Cathy Glass, although certainty not my favorite. There just wasn't as much to it as the others I have read. I love how selfless, accepting, and wise she is and enjoy how she has grown as a person in this and other books that took place in her later fostering years. Recommended for Cathy Glass fans but if it's your first book by her I'd start somewhere else.

Gripping!

Fantastic, brilliantly read and informative without going over the top with un necessary details which detract from the story. Am already hunting for my next Cathy Glass story! Kept me intrigued with a few heart in mouth moments, the characters and voices really helped make this a wonderful listen.

wow

I found my self shouting at the book (Cathy) for not noticing the signs, exceptional book. I haven't connected to a book like this since 'a child called it' by the amazing Dave Pelzer. Keep them coming Cathy, read and listened to most of your books :)

Another fascinating story

Having read most of the Cathy Glass books, this, as expected was another interesting and captivating story. However, the narrator was awful. Everyone other than Cathy sounded the same with either a daft deep voice for the adults wether male or female or a high pitched child like voice representing the teens. It was very monotone and droned on spoiling it for me. I usually read her books myself and after listening to that woman for copious hours, I think in future il go back to the devil I know!

Story with a twist

This story kept me captivated. Well narrated and put across in a non boring way. The plot unravels over numerous chapters. You feel yourself fighting for everything to turn out ok for Stevie. This lad keeps putting himself in harms way but with everyone fighting his corner it all turns out for the best for everyone. Highly recommended for a good listen.

Very interesting and shocking

Avid reader of Cathy Glass and this was quite a shocking story but so well told. Love the narrator as always!
