A moment is all it takes to change your life forever.

Reid Carter - road captain for the Kings of Retribution MC. He was born into the life. A world where you live and play by your own rules. Tragedy strikes, taking the life of his younger brother, Noah, leaving him to pick up the broken pieces. Four years later, he still wanders through his existence bitter and jaded by the hand he was dealt. Until Mila and her daughter walk into his life, making him feel whole again.

Single mother Mila Vaughn knows what it's like to struggle every day. Returning to Polson, the only place she truly felt at peace - experienced love - she makes a home for herself and her daughter and fulfills her dream of becoming a nurse. When her skills place her into the arms of outlaw biker Reid Carter, sheltering her heart from him proves more complicated than Mila prepared herself for.

Chaos finds its way to their hometown; Reid will stop at nothing to protect the woman he wants and his future.

Favourite so far!

I’ve really enjoyed this series, and loved this one the most so far. Him being broken, and her helping to fix him was a good trope.
The characters all developing and growing their families has been fun. I like how much they care for their women.
I will be going onto the next book with Jake as the main character.

Fantastic read

I loved this book so much. It had me laughing at some parts, smiling during others (and looking every bit the weirdo while listening to it at work & smiling to myself), then covered in goose bumps at other times. I started to have a bit of an idea of where the storyline was likely going, but it still hit me the same. A good look at people dealing with the trials they face in life & how they learn who their people are.

Maxine Mitchell & Joe Arden once again have done a fantastic job narrating. I’m a big fan of their work, it’s always on point.

great 2nd book

I think I loved this book better than the 1st one.
Leaving off from the ending of
The darkest of life, it was suspenseful as to how Reid fared. It turns out that our alpha needed a good shake, and who better to do that than Mila.
There was some good suspense, heat, and romance, all rolled into 1, and I loved hearing about our past favourites.
Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden are 2 of my favourite narrators, and I loved listening to their brilliant performances.
I'm looking forward to the next book
