Story
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Story
In my dreams, I never escaped the Oregon woods. Life after death isn't easy to accept, especially when I still feel like a ghost. Now, I live deep in the mountains of Montana—the paradigm of beauty. But they are also the home of horrors. Horrors that I only unleash at night. When my pigs are allowed to feast.

Story
Just hours after humans are born, the gods take what little power we have. In return, they protect our borders from the vicious, merciless fae. The humans who manage to keep their power are known as the corrupt. And they are burned. When my forbidden power is discovered, I’m forced to flee my tiny village and the life I adore. To survive, I make a desperate bargain with the mercenary who abandoned me at my weakest moment. Our deal is simple: I’ll help him and his mysterious friends sneak into the city, and he’ll help me learn to wield the strange, dark power I’ve always kept hidden.

Best book in the series
I loved book 1 and 2 but I fell IN LOVE with this book!
The story arc and character development was spectacular, and the type of writing was magical, it felt like a fairytale dream.

Not bad, not as good as I hoped.
I liked the final book and how it is split between both sisters' storylines, which brings it together neatly. I did feel like there was a lot of unnecessary drivel though. There were many times when Tella was "thinking" or remembering things romantically that was a bit repetitive for me. I enjoy romance, but it was a lot of rehashing the same things without much actually happening. I sped the story up a lot just to get to the point. There were a few loose ends left, too, and some characters I would have liked to have learned more about. Jacks, the girls' parents, and the storylines of the fates I feel weren't given as much back story and depth as they deserved. Where I had initially not found the romance between Julien and Scarlet interesting- which was my only issue with book 1- I did find this book turned that around for me and I ended up far more invested in their love story and personalities. Ironically, I think they were my favourite part of the final book. So it wasn't entirely satisfying, but for the most part, the ending was pretty good. I think I have the unpopular opinion about this not being the best book of the series. I still recommend it, though.

Chapter 9 playback error
Chapter 9 doesn't work properly, I believe that part of the file may be missing, it skips to chapter 10 after a few seconds.

Yes!
I loved this series so much, I listened to all three books in less than two weeks. I'd heard good things about this book series and it definitely didn't disappoint.
The characters were well developed, the fantasy world was mesmerising in its imagery, and the villians were multifaceted.
I would definitely recommend, and I hope Stephanie writes a follow-on to this series as she's definitely left it open enough for continuation

Lovely and lively
Rebecca Soler absolutely brings this book to life. Even with character changes, you can tell which sister or brother is talking. Absolutely talent and has done justice to the world that Stephanie has built.
