Publisher's Summary

Earth is gone. Eden promises a new start for mankind.

Kendra, Andrew, and the other survivors arrive with Lewis Hound’s chosen people at an unfamiliar planet with more questions than answers: how did they get there? Where did all of the advanced technology come from? And is this really Proxima B Centauri?

The colony ship breaks into sections and makes an emergency landing amidst a meteor shower, and Lewis Hound, Eden’s enigmatic leader, goes missing.

Despite their misgivings and the initial chaos, people soon settle into a routine in the fledgling colony. But a growing number of suspicious circumstances lead Andrew and Kendra to doubt what they’re being told, and they begin to think that there might be more dangerous predators about than the ones on four legs.

With new friends and old adversaries, they struggle to find the truth behind a growing web of deceit.

What is beyond the forbidden mountain ranges that surround the valley where they landed? And where is Lewis Hound?

Captivating Sci-fi

This is a unique, skillfully composed, attention grabbing story with well constructed characters. With continuity, this exciting, imaginative, suspenseful story picks up where Final Days ended. This action packed story with plot twists, mystery, secrecy and deception was difficult to put down. I enjoyed this story and I look forward to the next book in order to learn what happens next. The narration of this book was splendid. I was provided a free review copy of this audio book and am voluntarily leaving this review.

really

come on the author went out of their way to make all the characters in this book as stupid as possible. I don't think I will finish this series if this book is an indication of how the rest of the series will play out

Down Hill Dive From First Book

This book had a lot of potential with a great narrator. I couldn't finish because it just became absurd. We have someone who controls every action but for some reason lets a cult just rise out of control. One the main heroes, Andrew, does nothing but whine about everything. I gave up before I finished it and sent it back.

Awful ending

It’s a good thing it is only the second book. This was probably 5 stars until the last part. Beyond not believable. Hope it is fixed in the last book but I don’t have much faith where this is heading. I did like 90% of the book though so still worth it. Maybe you won’t find the last part as bad as I did.

Better!

This one was better than the first! A more consistent story and speculation on what’s next.

An Exciting and Suspenseful Mystery Continues

After listening to the first book of this series, I needed to continue this great story. I requested a free review copy of 'Final Days: Colony' and am now providing this voluntary review. I recommend to those who haven't read/listened to the first installment of this series, that you do that before starting this book. The second book's action starts immediately after the ending of Book 1. . Book 2 begins with the survivors of Earth's destruction, and chosen by Lewis Hound, being taken into space toward a new planet. Only then are they told that they're on their way to Proxima Centauri, four light-years away. They find out they will be in cryo-sleep for 74 years before arriving at their new home. Once there, the colonists begin establishing a working settlement. What dangers from their new home and fellow humans alike will they face? My favorite part of the book is the world-building. The descriptions the authors provide are vivid. While the colonists explore their environment, the reader gets the sense of wonder and danger it provides. It is imaginative and believable. The characters are well-drawn. The authors portray them as typical people put into some non-typical circumstances. The reader gets to watch as most begin to acclimate to this new world. Andrew, Kendra and the others of their group are still working to figure out what Lewis Hound's grand plan is. We get hints, but no concrete answers yet. I enjoy the plot as well. There's a mystery in which the reader receives sprinkled-in clues by Hystad and Scott. I look forward to what the authors have in store for the next book. I'm anxious to dig into Book 3. Ray Porter's narration is brilliant, as always. He makes the fantastical sci-fi elements seem like they're natural. It helps the reader see the story as real and tangible. Highly recommended.

A great twist to the story

This second book really expands on the characters and their life on a new planet, which is obviously not what they expected! Really enjoyed this installment and off to listen to book 3 now!
