Much of the content is anecdotal, rather than academic, which is fine - but it becomes taxing once he brings up his disdain for Emily in Paris for the tenth or so time. Given the author’s proclivity for the high-brow, he is clearly not the target audience of Emily in Paris, and the references to niche, snobbish cultural artefacts become grating after a while.
The narration is sooooooo slow. I have never listened to an audiobook at an increased speed, but I had to for this one.
