Story
Told from four-year-old Laura's point of view, this story begins in 1871 in a little log cabin on the edge of the Big Woods of Wisconsin. Laura lives in the little house with her pa, her ma, her sisters Mary and Carrie, and their trusty dog, Jack. Pioneer life is sometimes hard for the family, since they must grow or catch all their own food as they get ready for the cold winter. But it is also exciting as Laura and her family celebrate Christmas with homemade toys and treats, do the spring planting, bring in the harvest, and make their first trip into town.

Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

“I – I got in through the wardrobe in the spare room,” said Lucy.

She’s stumbled upon the magical world of Narnia, land of unicorns, centaurs, fauns… and the wicked White Witch, who terrorises all. Not enough chapters
I really enjoyed the book but I don't understand why the audio book only has 2 chapters but the actual book has 17 chapters. honestly this is one of the best books that I have ever read/listened to. I am a big Harry Potter fan and have read all of the books and that big battle at the end was extremely similar to the battle of Hogwarts wich makes me wonder if C.S. Lewis got inspiration from that. Overall I loved the experience of listening to this book and am actually writing this review after my 4th time listening to the book and I only got it yesterday!

So disappointed
Sir Michael Hordern, Oh wonderful. He is!
The thing that spoils this recording is that dreadful music. I didn’t mind as an introduction but PLEASE NOT when I want to listen to a story! I certainly would not give it to a child to listen too. I am very disappointed in this recording.

Warning: abridged version.
Very disappointed to discover that this is an abridged version of the novel, after I have wasted my one credit for this month purchasing the audiobook. There was no indication in the description that the audiobook would be abridged. I see now that the image does say ‘abridged’ at the bottom, but it is so blurry that I didn’t notice it. Very frustrating.

I wanted to enjoy it more, as I enjoyed the film.
The story itself was very basic, explaining everything as it went. CS.Lewis sacrificed so many opportunities for amazing story telling for explaining the deep meaning or affect a character has on the storyline.
The music in the background is also very frustrating, and makes listening to this tedious. it also occasionally becomes louder than Sir Michael Hordern, and so missed parts of what he said.
Unfortunately, the film is superior to the book in this case.
(This is also the same for the rest of the books in the series)

How do they skip sooo many pages
When i was reading it, it was sckiping way to many pages for me to catch up with so make sure to read with out the audio book for some bits. It was really interesting but Michael was saying the wrong word with some sentences, and it in 2 chapters when there is 18 chapters
