About this listen

Every weekend, in basements and car parks across the country, young men with good white-collar jobs and absent fathers take off their shoes and shirts and fight each other barehanded. Then they go back to those jobs with blackened eyes and loosened teeth and the sense that they can handle anything.

Fight Club is the invention of Tyler Durden, projectionist, waiter, and dark, anarchic genius. And it's only the beginning of his plans for revenge on the world...

If you have watched the movie before the book. You will be able to picture everything that is happening. I love the movie and for the book it is good as well. But I feel like the narrator falls a bit flat.

It’s worth a listen if you like the movie

A great listen! I really enjoyed it. Now I just need to watch the book to compare!

I doubt I could contribute any new thoughts on Fight Club, all I can say is it's a great book, full of wit, humour and great writing, and questions one must ask themselves.

I really like this audiobook and almost the same as the movie itself, the performance of the narrator is awesome

I've relistened this audiobook

I got this audiobook in 2020, peak COVID, when I was institutionalized for a very short period of time. I listened to it for half hour and then stopped as it reinforced the severe psychosis I was going through. I picked Fight Club back up the past two weeks, during exercise and driving to and from work. It's an absolute blast to read. It's a mind bending, mental gymnastics saga of backwards philosophy and insightful nonsense that makes sense, even though it's so far fetched and loony bin. It's entertaining, amusing, exhausting & really strange. I'm not going to do anything they did in Fight Club, but I'm still feeling like I've grown as a person. I must admit, the movie was better, but this performance is still great to listen to. If you're in a Fight Club, do not talk about Fight Club, but if you're recommending a book/movie... do not talk about Fight Club!

Not Recommended During Psychosis

Epic counter culture bible ; the movie tracks pretty close to the book. A couple of extra insights here that didn’t make the movie (which was all time itself)

Profound and concise

Timeless classic, narrator could be more emotive. But overall still a great listen 20 years on

Timeless classic
