NOW THE NO.1 DRAMA IN THE HISTORY OF AppleTV+, SILO.

In a ruined and hostile landscape, in a future few have been unlucky enough to survive, a community exists in a giant underground silo.

Inside, men and women live an enclosed life full of rules and regulations, of secrets and lies.

To live, you must follow the rules. But some don't. These are the dangerous ones; these are the people who dare to hope and dream, and who infect others with their optimism.

Their punishment is simple and deadly. They are allowed outside.

Jules is one of these people. She may well be the last.

Gripping read that poses some difficult questions

Good book. Gripping story and complex underlying morals. Unfortunately I found the narration a bit flat. All of the characters were performed in the same style and with the same voice which deadened the impact somewhat. The second act is also a bit unearned and I think the author could have built to it a bit more in the first act. My only other observation being that I found it a bit difficult to empathize with the main characters towards the final act. I found myself understanding and siding with the 'bad' guys more often than not.

Too slow.

First off, I really liked the narrator and will look for more books she narrates. The story has so much potential but is slow and meandering. I was so bored that had I not bee driving, I would have changed books. This book could have been have been at least 200 pages shorter and lost nothing. I liked the first part, which is why I progressed form the short story to the full audio book. But, I found it a slog from the end of part 2. I never really gelled with Juliette (our hero) who I found passive to the point of irritation. But, despite the many meandering chapters the last few seemed to be rushed to finish the book. This rapid rush to a conclusion was unsatisfying.

Ending left you needing more, felt a little anti climactic and rushed

Overall the book was quite enticing, at times slow leaving you wanting to speed up or skip past some parts however upon finishing and getting to the conclusion character decisions and dialogue became increasingly difficult to relate to or understand and at times became infuriating, the end as well left some questions unanswered, looking forward to its continuation.

So Much Better Than The TV Show

I'm glad I watched the TV show first. I enjoyed the show but the book is so much better. Lots of action as well as sci-fi twists and mysteries. No dragging or unnecessary filler, and the performance was excellent also. I'm happy I got this book, if you watched the TV and enjoyed it in any way then you will love the book also. Possibly would contain spoilers for a season 2?

Bland...but listenable

Not sure if it's the narrator or the story but this one of those weird books that are very vanilla but just good enough to listen the whole way through.

An inventive thriller with resonating contemporary themes

Backed up by a solid narration. Enjoyed the ride and I’m looking forward to book 2!
Note -Not the book to listen to to relax and fall asleep!
