Publisher's Summary

Zoe, a sometime artist from California, has recently lost her husband. Martin, an engineer from Yorkshire, is alone after a messy divorce. Both have ended up in Cluny, central France, on a separate journey to walk the Camino: 2,000 kilometres to Santiago, in northwestern Spain.

The Camino changes you, it's said. It's a chance to find a new version of yourself. But can these two very different people find each other?

Warm and Fuzzy

It took me a while to not find the characters irritating. But towards the end everything came together well and I was left with a wholesoom good feeling.

Inspirational...

It took a while to get into this with all the various characters. Yet I persisted and found it both inspirational and entertaining.
As someone who dreams of doing such a walk, I found that it has given me hope of doing so.
At the end I really wanted the story to be real!
Highly recommend...

Deserves its own movie.

Loved it. Inspiration, wit, great character development and fun without being a Disney romance. I fell across this audiobook at the same time as meeting a friend’s husband who walked the French way following his son’s death. Graeme is a favourite author of mine. We have even met. I lost my love of 42 years in 2021. The book and the mission for change has inspired me to take on the challenge my soul needs. I’ve even rung my travel agent. Buen Camino!

Didn’t love it didn’t hate it!

A bit slow going. Sometimes frustrated with story line and characters. Good ending. Overall a pleasant experience.

Memories came back

Thank you, the story took me back to my first walk in 2013 and the friendships that were made and still survive and grow to this day.

Camino Calling

What a delightful tale of life and life's signposts. What a brilliant way to deal with grief and upheavel... walking. The romantic tension and relationships were played out in a realistic yet almost teachable moment way, which I think was a bonus from having the co author as a psychiatrist. I enjoyed the listen - although I took a while to cope with the American accent - and especially appreciated the author's notes at the end discussing the merits to walking Camino honouring the pilgrimage according to your own needs. Having friends complete it or sections thereof, I cannot ever picture myself carrying a heavy pack and enduring poor quality sleep... I'm a hypersensitive sleeper and do need my rest. The walking sounds amazing though! I love the idea of spending 2 nights in some places and having the freedom to explore and just be in the moment.
