Publisher's Summary

Angelina Ellsworth once believed in love - before she discovered her husband of mere hours was a slave-trader and already married. To avoid the scandal and disgrace, she escapes to the estate of her aunt and uncle, the Duke and Duchess of Waterford. When Angelina learns she is with child, she vows she'll never trust a man again.

Flynn, Earl of Luxmoore, led an enchanted life until his father committed suicide after losing everything to Waterford in a wager. Stripped of all but his title, Flynn is thrust into the role of marquis as well as provider for his disabled sister and invalid mother. Unable to pay his father's astronomical gambling loss, Flynn must choose between social or financial ruin.

When the duke suggests he'll forgive the debt if Flynn marries his niece, Flynn accepts the duke's proposal. Reluctant to wed a stranger, but willing to do anything to protect her babe and escape the clutches of the madman who still pursues her, Angelina agrees to the union.

Can the earl and his Scottish lass find happiness and love in a marriage neither wanted, or is the chasm between them insurmountable?

Entertaining

Excellent story! I enjoyed the characters ( good and bad guys) and their stories. I always enjoy a book with a good epilogue and this one did not disappoint. This is not my first Collette Cameron and will not be my last. The only negative is the narrations were sometimes a little long.

outstanding story

I truly enjoyed this tale of love between Angelina and Flynn. This book covers some unusual topics such as slavery and illigetimacy. Cameron's tale is never predictable. I loved the humor in Angelina's character - caught up a tree? The twists and turns of the plot kept me interested and reading. David Monteath does an excellent job in this narration.

Couldn't Put it Down!!

Wow, what a treasure! Once I started listening, I couldn't even put it down long enough to eat! From the first page to the last, I couldn't imagine what would happen next. Collette Cameron's novels never disappoint, but this one was more exceptional than most. Set from America to England to Scotland and back to England, it is fast paced and riviting. Since it begins with a lying, cheating mate, it features a slave trafficer, his innocent "wife", and nobles from dukes to butlers, all of them unique in their own way. Collette has really outdone herself this time. I plan to listen to *Triumph and Treasure* several times! It is a great read

Can love bloom for Flynn and Angelina

March 1818, Angelina Ellsworth marries and discovers on her wedding night her husband is a bigamist and a slave trader.

May 1818, Flynn, Earl of Luxmore inherits his title after his father commits suicide. Flynn learns his father had gambled away everything and Flynn must release the estate, all its money and properties to the winner. Flynn finds himself responsible for the care of his disable sister and aging mother.

However, the Duke who has won all of Flynn's family belongings says he is willing to forgive the debt if Flynn marries his niece, the pregnant, Angelina.
Although, both Flynn and Angelina are reluctant to wed they realize how much they need each other. A small flame of attraction under the skillful pen of Ms Cameron has you wishing for them to find happiness together.

A heartwarming story filled with so many road blocks but they become the fabric that binds both Flynn and Angelina together. A great romantic read.
