My new bodyguard? A possessive, dangerous alien warrior who wants to claim me as his prize. Oh boy.
Decades have passed since the Tyk'ix destroyed the Zoran homeworld. The fierce, sexy alien warriors have found refuge on Earth, but adjusting to this new reality has not been easy for either species.
Sarah Granger wants nothing to do with the aliens - her father died protecting the Zoran, and she's yet to forgive them. When the Human Federation plans a mission into deep space to find a new home for the alien warriors, she volunteers, and to her own surprise, the curvy scientist gets the job! She couldn't be happier. Until, moments before launch, the Federation assigns her a bodyguard. And not just anyone: The most dangerous, arrogant Zoran warrior imaginable, who won't leave her alone for even a second.
Kazim has never seen his homeworld. The alien warrior grew up an orphan on the streets of Boston with nothing to his name except his fists and his indomitable will. The blue-skinned Zoran is the undefeated boxing champion of the Boston underworld - until the local kingpin asks him to take a dive. Instead, Kazim knocks his human opponent out so hard it kills him, and now the entire mob is out for his blood.
The wanted alien warrior needs to lay low for a while, and using his connections, manages to hitch a ride on a human ship heading into deep space. All he has to do is protect Sarah Granger from harm. An easy job for a warrior as tall and strong as him...Until he sees her and he realizes in an instant that he's found his fated mate.
Resisting his urge to claim her is the hardest battle the alien warrior has ever fought.
The Zoran's Bride is the first book in the new Barbarian Brides series. It's a science fiction romance story featuring a stubborn human female and the cocky, arrogant alien warrior who drives her mad. Happily-ever-after guaranteed!
Very Lite alien male and human female romance set in a loose plot; also with sex done lite.
Roeg does a decent enough job with narration.
If you want lite reading in this genre, you’ll probably like this one.
I received an ARC for an honest review. This story was fun, funny, sexy, a great read!! Made me laugh multiple times!! :) Action, adventure and sexy romance!! Lots if fun!!
Great story on how quickly things can change. The smallest thing can change somebody’s mind. A love story with a lot of action. Hot and steamy.
Definitely worth getting. The narrator does a great job of bringing the characters to life. You easily can get lost in what the H/h go through. I finished this in one go. I’m sure you will too.
Well, he's not exactly the cute little blue guy, but a hot hunk of cerulean blue hotness. The dynamic between Kazim and Sarah is definitely interesting. Beth Roeg really brings the characters to life and Luna Hunter's writing definitely evoke the emotional responses that put you in the moment with the characters. The connections that are made between the characters are realistic and visceral. They make you fall in love with them. It is well worth the listen, or read, and I will certainly be looking forward to the next book.
I’m new to audible, this was a great story to listen to, while driving. I loved it! I hope to get some more stories from this author for sure!!!
Loved this story and enjoyed the narrator. A lot of adventure with some very strange Aliens, with just enough sexy times to keep you going. The h Sarah is a scientist who is helping to find a new planet for the Zoran. H Kazim is a fighter who has got himself into a bit of trouble and needs to leave the planet. When Kazim is "tasked" to be Sarah's bodyguard things get a little crazy in outerspace! Enjoy the listen for yourself!
I enjoyed this story most of the time, except it did have moments where I felt it was a little goofy sounding. I am torn between thinking it was the story itself or the narration and I’m leaning more toward the narration being the problem. The story itself was predictable, though there were good moments of drama and a few sexy scenes. The heroine, for being a genius scientist, sounded kind of brainless at times. The hero just sounded like I’d expect him to. Overall it’s an okay listen if you don’t want to have to pay close attention while you’re listening.
