Publisher's Summary

Gabe lives a double life. As Gabriel Henson, he works multiple jobs to support his remorseless alcoholic mother. As Tony Ryder, he does Internet porn for extra cash. When he encounters a scared young man freaking out in a nightclub, Gabe is compelled to reach out. Ever since then the memory of that young man has haunted him.

Tristan Lavelle lives his life 30 minutes at a time. After a traumatic brain injury three years ago, he gets through his days recording his life in spiral notebooks and sticky note reminders. A month after Tristan's embarrassingly public meltdown, another chance meeting with Gabe sparks a warm, emotionally fulfilling email relationship. Both men crave more but fear of the next step stands between them - until Tristan gets the opportunity to take part in a clinical trial that could improve his memory.

I loved this story so much it was compelling and engaging.

The narrator was at times like listening to a 6 year old reading I struggled to keep going. There were so many times I almost quit. The story line was the only thing that kept me going.

This was such a unique and moving story!

For the last three years Tristan Lavelle has suffered from short-term memory loss after a horrific assault. He takes notes about everything because within 30-40 minutes he forgets where he is, who he’s with, and what he’s been told. As a man in his twenties living in an aged care home, life is no fun. Tristan meets Gabe Henson on an rare night out to a gay club. Gabe supports his alcoholic mother with multiple jobs, including some porn work. A new drug gives Tristan (and Gabe) some hope that his memory may improve but the potential side effects aren’t great.

I’m really enjoying this steamy, melancholy series about porn stars finding true love. Both main characters are very decent guys in hard circumstances who find comfort and hope in each other. AM Arthur follows the Checkov’s gun maxim in this series: if something bad is even vaguely mentioned, it invariably goes wrong and causes pain. And yet … this is a really hopeful, positive story of people surviving hardship and going on to thrive. Once again, you’ll have to decided whether Gabe’s porn work constitutes cheating. I could forgive the concealment and loved this book, not everyone will. US voice actor Guy Locke’s breezy style really suits the characters because they are upbeat despite the crap in their lives (the entire trilogy is free on the Audible Plus catalogue).
