Terrible Irish accent
I've read Monica McInerney books so many times and they're so lively but the narrator sounds like she's reading an encyclopaedia. I'm struggling to finish this book it is so dull. The Irish accent is rubbish too.

Engaging family secrets
I loved the continuation of Lola's secret in this book but it was a mistake listening to it straight after. Having listened to the narrator 's animated interpretation of Lola,s character in Lola's secret it was completely disapointing in this sequel- particularly as her accent went between irish and Welsh. I felt the narrators voice could put you to sleep rather than engage the reader.
