loving this series
The Staff and the Blade is the story of Damien and Sari. Being the 4th book in the series, their back story was covered to a much lesser degree in Ava and Malachi's books (1-3 in the series), but I was excited to finally listen to the full story of their relationship. The reader know's going in that it was not a happy one for a long time, and there was much sadness and devastation for them both.
I've been listening to the audiobooks for this series, and finished The Secret just over 2 months ago. As Zachary Webber narrated the first 3 (and did an AMAZING job of it), I decided to wait a while before listening to The Staff and the Blade due to the narrator being a different one, and I didn't want to constantly compare his performance to ZW. I'm so glad I waited - I don't think I would have enjoyed listening as much if I went straight onto this from The Secret.

Narrator was too wooden.
im sure its a fantastic book thoroughly enjoyed the first three. but just couldnt get on with this narrator. having been previously spoiled with Zachary Webber the performance here was just very wooden and actually sounded like he was just reading a book. very dissapointed. have returned.
