Publisher's Summary

Raven and her sister, Cara, are at the mercy of a small detachment of Florentine vampyres who are delivering them as a peace offering to the feared Curia in Rome. Though she's unsure William survived the coup that toppled his principality, Raven is determined to protect her sister at all costs, even if it means challenging Borek, the commander of the detachment. In an effort to keep Raven from falling into the hands of his enemies, William puts himself at the mercy of the Roman, the dangerous and mysterious vampyre king of Italy. But the Roman is not what he expects.

Alliances and enmities will shift and merge as William struggles to save the woman he loves and his principality without plunging the vampyre population into a world war. This stunning conclusion to the Florentine series will take listeners across Italy and beyond as the lovers fight to remain together...forever.

"Great ending to the Florentine Series"

I have loved The Florentine Series from the beginning, The Prince; The Raven; The Shadow & The Roman. In typical Sylvain Reynard fashion the story never got boring but The Roman had more twists and turns than I thought possible.
I was very saddened to learn of the passing of John Michael Morgan who narrated the The Raven & The Shadow (and the Gabriel Series) and was such a brilliant narrator but I have to say that Robertson Dean did a wonderful narration of The Roman.
All in all this was another great audiobook.

    "Excellent Conclusion To Florentine Saga!!"

Great ending for William and Raven. Even great ending for Gaberiel and Julianne. Listening and Reading at the same time, the printed book was very different from audiobook, phrases changed, some sentences omitted. Audiobook better. The richness of the literature and history of Florence, Geneva, Prague, and other cities sighted in audiobook was very enjoyable. Love the cariture devolvement as spane over four books, some lovable, some pure evil, some a little of both. A must read. New narrator was fair needs to know the correct pronunciation of Beatrice.

"Nice Way to Wrap Up a Series"

I can honestly say this how a finale book should be written. I believe all of the major story arcs were concluded. William and Raven get their HEA, even though it might not be the HEA you expected... but that is not a bad thing. I love that Reynard snuck in little updated on Gabriel and Julia.

In my heart, the only detraction was the absence of John Michael Morgan. He has been the voice of Reynard's books since the beginning, and he brought a special snark and elegance that I simply became accustomed to expect. However, if I had never previously listened to JMM, then I would have said that Robertson Dean did a fantastic job. He really did differentiate his voice between male and female characters. I would definitely look out for other books narrated by Robertson Dean.

    "Fantastic!"

Just fantastic, as is every word Reynard writes. What a riveting story and a grand escape from everyday life. Reynard weaves an intricate plot with characters the reader comes to care deeply about. He took the story down unexpected paths, and I loved the ending every bit as much as I had dreaded getting to it because that would mean the story was over. And I suppose that's how it should be.

"LOVE, FAITH, TRUST, AND HONOR CONQUERS ALL!!!"

Sylvain Reynard's last book in the trilogy of William, The Prince of Florence and his Raven beauty, THE ROMAN. This was the perfect story to say GOODBYE TO WILLIAM AND RAVEN, An ending full of LOVE, FAITH, TRUST and HONOR that conquers all wars, battles, enemies, and evils that lurk in the dark shadows. The story was perfect, but truly missed was the Outstanding voice of John Michael Morgan, who was the narrator for all of Sylvain's Gabriel's book series, and the first two books of this series, his voice was so rich, and smooth and clear and he became the characters, you didn't feel read to, but involved in a real story happening before your eyes.. I admit it took several chapters before I was enjoying the book, but I was a fan of Mr. Morgan's and will truly miss listening to him talk...
However, Thank You for the perfect send off for our beloved William and his Raven, I will miss them tremendously, but look forward to your next book adventure.. Get The Roman for the conclusion of the Prince of Florence and his Raven haired beauty's story and fall in love with them All Over Again!!!

    "A series saved"

With the passing of the previous narrator I went into this audiobook blind. The performance given does justice to both the work and his predecessor. Bravo. An interesting conclusion to the series.
