So close!!

This book could have been so good! Argh! I was so intrigued by the story and couldn’t stop listening but felt so let down in the end. The story line had so much promise but the end just fizzled. I felt we really needed to hear more about the male character’s feelings, emotions etc. I kept thinking it was coming especially because the prologue was told from his point of view but then we never hear from him again. Even in his dialogue with the other characters you never really get to hear his side and where his true feelings were.. This is the second Paige toon book I’ve listened to and both left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. Great lead up and suck you in but then left incomplete.

The female narrator of this story was fantastic. Really loved her voice and felt the emotion of the characters. The male
Narrator, while only a short role was completely wrong. A middle aged man narrating for an 18yr old boy.

Beautiful read, beautifully written and beautiful story

I have almost finished all of Paige Toon books now, either in book or audio format. This was very enjoyable and I definitely recommend it. The narrator was excellent. One of the best I have had the pleasure to listen to. (I’ve done a lot of audio books now). Discovering Paige Toon in lockdown has been the best thing about 2020 for me 💕 This is now one of my favourites.

Had to stop because of the narrator

I cant comment on the book itself because I couldnt listen to another word from this narrator. She has a slight lisp on her S's which I found to be grating and her voice makes the characters seem constantly upset and whiny.
