Wonderful Story

A deeply moving story

I was deeply affected by this tale which was based sadly on the reality of the orphanages and their ilk in Catholic Ireland over the last century and more. The narrator captured the starkness, the cruelty and the terror in his spare performance, uttering the words with a relentless almost monotonous and colourless tone which so reflected the matter at hand.
The parts dealing with the ‘present day’ of the Seventies were handled with a completely different manner, the accents delightful and true and the narrator wrung all the surprising comedy out of each scene. But again, the tension and suspense of the last chapters perfectly handled to bring the reader to the brink…
What a rare gem of a story - so much delivered in such a short period of time! This will stay with me for a very long time and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Bravo author and narrator!
