Publisher's Summary

Some people can drink socially, some people cannot. Lena Harod belongs to the latter group. An active alcoholic, Lena has reached a pivotal point in her drinking career. Racked with guilt, shame, and self-loathing, she is driven to despair beyond comprehension. Lena's story begins on an ill-fated evening when her options look bleak. A chance meeting with a stranger sets her fate, and her journey towards sobriety begins. As Lena slowly returns to the world of unaltered reality, she begins to see herself, other people, and the world with a clarity she's never experienced.

Sober is a fictional story of one woman's experience with the program of Alcoholics Anonymous and her struggles to rebuild her life. It explores the trials and joys of finding a life without addiction with honesty and humor. Lena could be any of us, and this illuminating story will show the reader that, with a little courage and help, it's never too late for redemption and recovery.

Took a while to realise it was a novel ...and a boring one at that

I might be slow but it took me a few chapters to realise it was a novel rather than a self help book about being sober.
Once I relaxed into it and listened to the story I was so bored. Found the entire thing dreary although I enjoyed the narration. Not my cup of tea at all.
