Publisher's Summary

Psychology professor and criminal profiler Taylor Martin prides herself on being able to solve any crime except the one she wants most desperately to solve - the disappearance of her father 20 years ago. When she finally has a lead on his whereabouts, Taylor returns home to Logan Point, Mississippi, to investigate. But as she works to uncover the truth, someone else will do almost anything to keep her from it.

Nick Sinclair pens mystery novels for a living, but the biggest mystery to him is how he can ever get over the death of his wife - a tragedy he believes he could have prevented. Now that his estranged brother is the only family he has left, Nick sets out to find him. But when he crosses paths with Taylor, all he seems to find is trouble.

Join the chase as Taylor and Nick search the murky shadows of the past for the keys to unlocking the present - and moving into a future they never imagined.

Down a long and twisted road. Many lives are just like that, until we get to the straight and narrow.

This is my first experience with author, Patricia Bradley. I really loved the plot and its direction. The characters were so alive and real. I can't wait to check out her other published books and more in this series.
Elise Arsenault was good but at first she sounded like she had a head cold and stuffy. Not the male characters just the female.

Excellent Listen

The story was enjoyable and moved at a good pace. Light listen like a cool breeze

Narrators always require a bit of tuning into. But this was well done and easily understood

Bad narrator

This book would have been much better if the valley girl had not been reading it. There is a t in Martin

Good mystery, good narrator...

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Tiny bit gruesome to me, just in the details, not that it's gory.

Any additional comments?

Enjoyed the mystery, which was not easy to figure out. Didn't enjoy the needless killing, but that's the way these mystery stories are sometimes :(

First ever review

What would have made Shadows of the Past better?

Not to have been written

What didn’t you like about Elise Arsenault’s performance?

Sad Southern accents

Any additional comments?

This has To tbe the worst book I have ever read or listened to. Full of cliches, really bad dialogue and poor story line.

Great Story

The story was great. The plot and characters were interesting. The narrator’s voice was pleasant. BUT FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY PLEASE SELECT A NARRATOR THAT PRONOUNCES THE “T” IN A WORD. I wanted to finish the book but listening was painful.

Predictable, Oddly Religious

I knew who all the bad guys were right away and spent the entire book either rolling my eyes at the bad plot, the bad dialog, or the annoying religious attempts at indoctrination. If I wanted church I'd go thanks.

Too much Jesus

Too much Christian religious preaching. Not enough romance. Extremely predicable mystery with all characters being too idiotic to solve it.
