well done Ms O'Shea

I had no idea what Ms O'Shea's writing was like or about. and I was wonderfully surprised....this scifi had it all, angst, suspense, slow burn romance and steamy scenes.
the theme of her book I have seen in movies.
However, as much as the common thread of the plotline has been done with other novels, for me, none I've read has been done with as much flow...for lack of a better word.
I'm a big Ruby Lionsdrake fan and her writing, sets a pace that's akin to swift, where as the likes of Zoey Draven is slower paced with daily happening events and slow burn romance.
so Ms O'Shea's story unfurled nicely.
although, in saying that, the opening chapter grabs you quickly and the suspense begins.
the setting unfurls at a pace that doesn't inundate you with information overload and the hero and heroine are instantly likeable. there are plausible scenes and some great angst. the ending is not predictable at all..
not to me anyway. (and I Normally work out endings)
in saying that, it is a scifi so, unlike whodunnits, it's a bit trickier to work out.
I enjoyed hearing the epilogue and I thought the 2nd book would be about some side characters in this book, but another surprise, its not at all.
love her writing and looking forward to other books.
the narrator was a first listen for me and I absolutely loved her. Alex brought about a quiet strength that added to the flow of the story. her voice didn't inflect different tones for different characters but the author wrote it in such a way that you knew who was speaking so she didn't need to.
would recommend this book to people who enjoy a romance and steam along with the Paranormal and scifi .....well done Ms O'Shea
