Publisher's Summary

He is Dexter Mayhew, tall, dark, and (she can't deny it) handsome. She is Emma Morley, bottled red hair, wilfully badly dressed, all principles and no action. Could this be the dawn of the rest of their lives? Or are Dex and Em living proof that - despite an unlikely beginning - men and women really can be just good friends?

Bit miserable

If you’re into reading stories that are true to real life, friends to lovers or will they won’t they then you will like this book.
To be honest I hated every character in the book haha!
They are all miserable in their own way and the male lead needs a swift kick to the throat!
On a positive note it’s an interesting concept and alright writing.

I narrator wasn’t the best either.

Adored this book

So heartfelt and real. This book captures the passage of a friendship against the backdrop of figuring out who you are and what you want. Loved it!!

I love the book, the narration is very irritating

I really enjoy this book. I read it many years ago and was excited to listen to it on my daily commute. The narrated is very irritating, over acting and her Suki Meadows voice grates my brain.

Great narrator. A compelling story, so well written. Wonderfully witty but terribly sad too.

Loved everything about it. The writing style, the observations, It was funny, tender and sad.

Best book ever.

Not usually my thing at all but days after finishing I can’t stop thinking about it. Just perfect in every way.

The majority of this book left me feeling quite flat.

I did not want to give up on the this long book, enjoying some of the witty moments. In reality, much of this book left me really feeling quite flat, when I thought the story was improving it was cut short with sadness…

Entertaining.

The male character was sooo annoying. But overall I enjoyed the banter between the characters. It made the book enjoyable.
I got used to the narrators voice.
Did I mention the male character was annoying. I wanted to slap that man!

yeah good

Melancholic, moving, and genuinely funny.

Examines loss and longing and the chaotic mess of life.

Beautifully performed by the narrator.
