What a wonderful book
A great book beautifully narrated by Jennifer Lim.
Highly recommend ‘Little Fires Everywhere’, looking forward to reading another book by Celeste Ng

Characters feel so familiar
Finished listening yesterday, now grieving it’s complete. I fell in love with each character, their makeup, foibles and dreams. But it’s how beautifully the storyline weaves them together, as they fall in love or out of love. Quite brutal at times, very honest and raw. I am turning these characters over, with deep empathy will continue to fascinate over their lives. Bravo Celeste Ng!

Enjoyable progressively complex book
Little fires everywhere starts slowly and takes its time to build into a more complex narrative. However with patience it does delve in to a range of societal issues and taboos across race, gender, class, and family. Enjoyable book with a mix of themes but not overly heavy.

Nicely written but saccharin and predictable. Came away without any relationship with, or feelings for, the characters, who were too cliched to be relatable.

Great but the ending left too much undone
Good story but the ending was disappointing and left way too much undone. I hope there is a sequel. Will the people in NY think the teenager about to land on their doorstep is their daughter? There’s no karma for Elena’s hypocrisy. Lexi has had a traumatic event and it fades into nothing. The surrogacy legalities weren’t explored in enough depth compared to the adoption story. I felt sorry for Moody, his good nature taken for granted and him being a bit invisible.

A great listen!
Really loved this book and writing style. Such an easy listen, that I wasn't ready to let go of the characters when it finished.
