Publisher's Summary

Number one New York Times best-selling author Christine Feehan cuts straight to the heart of a man who stalks the shadows in an intoxicating Leopard novel.

Though born into a leopard's lair in the bayou, Joshua Tregre's fighting skills were honed in the rainforests of Borneo. Sleek and deadly, he's the perfect man to take over a crime syndicate back home in Louisiana's lush swamplands. His razor sharp instincts give him an edge in the violent underworld he knows so well, but even the watchful leopard inside him isn't prepared for the danger that comes from the girl next door.

She is a woman who can create beauty out of thin air - and out of the ruins of her own life. The games that dangerous men play have taken their toll on her, but she is bent, not broken. And it's her fierce spirit that's like a lure to Joshua, a temptation he can't resist - even if it means bringing his true nature into the light.

    "Super Hot!"

Another great book by Feehan. It has all the elements, intriguing plot, interesting characters, and much more erotic love scenes than in her previous books. Loved everything steamy toe curling scene.

"Overall, not her best work. Too much sex and or enough of anything else."

I’d still read her books. Especially the dark series ones...I was perhaps simply hoping for more.

I usually enjoy these books. However, This book is a lot of sex with a little story. The storyline was good, what little there was of it, but there was HOURS of sex with maybe an hour of plot.

    "Good but..."

I enjoy paranormal shifter romance and mostly enjoy Christine Feehan's work but lately it's been hit and miss because she seems to have taken a dark turn as of late into borderline BDSM (which is not my thing) and violence towards women and children. I have mostly enjoyed the leopard series though and did mostly enjoy this book as well. I loved the instant attraction between Joshua and Sonia and the fact that Feehan managed to make Joshua alpha but not over the top, which many authors seem to have a real problem doing these days. There's a difference between an alpha male and a domineering control freak and Joshua is pure Alpha. He takes Sonia's feeling into consideration instead of just telling her what to do with no regard to what she wants.

Sonia isn't a submissive weakling, which is another trait of many heroines in romance novels these days. She is in thrall to Joshua but doesn't let him walk all over her. I do have a problem with female characters making stupid decisions though. Like leaving with someone you think is a bad guy. Still, she's a very well-written character. The ending had a nice twist that I didn't really see coming. I like Jim Frangione having gotten used to hearing him read the Black Dagger Brotherhood. However, he can't do a Russian accent to save his life. He tried at first and the accent sounded halfway Russian but it's like he gave up halfway through and decided to make it a Spanish accent instead.

Overall I enjoyed the book immensely. I hope Christine Feehan can keep the BDSM and rape to a minimum and keep writing the paranormal romance that I love.

    "Very Poor"

This should have been good but it was actually a bit tedius. Two unlikely characters are now mates and are supposed to be getting to know each other. However for every 20 seconds of conversation there is another over the top sex scene. I know that Christine Feehan is all about sensual and sexy romance but this borders on boring rather than sensual.

    "Excellent"

I loved this well written book. And the narration was beautifully done as always. This book was definitely worth your time and money! To me this was a perfect balance of great characters, excellent storyline, and a narrator that brings the story to life!

    "Sonia and Joshua. meow"

Totally hot and extremely brutal. Not completely into bdsm, but Joshua is an alpha's alpha. Hard to find a stronger leopard in this series. It's lust at first sight for these leopard shifters. Even his gentle side is tough. Sonia is recovering from a lousy marriage and near death experience. It appears as if her husband put a bomb in her car. She is in hiding from him and his father. Joshua claims her as his mate immediately. She has trouble giving up being her own woman and working her older home remodeling.

    "Not a favorite"

I enjoy reading the books by Christine Freehan but I prefer the performance by Natalie Ross and Phil Gigante. They really bring a story to life, Jim Frangione not so much, maybe with female partner I would have liked it more.
