Story
When a beautiful blonde girl is found half-drowned on a beach, she has no memory of who she is or what horrors have left her there. But an article about her in a Brighton newspaper rings alarm bells for beautician Dale, who shows the police photographs of Lotte Wainright. The girls met working on a cruise ship, and their friendship blossomed as they sailed the seas of South America, until Lotte fell under the sinister influence of an older American couple.

Story
Thrown Away Child is a memoir covering Louise Allen’s abusive childhood in a foster home, how she survived - using her love of art as a sanctuary - and how she hopes to right old wrongs now by fostering children herself and campaigning for the improvement of foster care services. It is a compelling and inspirational story. This book gives a voice to the many children who grew up unhappily in care.

Good story but terrible recording
The story is quite good, not one of my favorites but I did enjoy it. I was put off by the recording which is not in time with chapters making it difficult to return to sometimes at they would end mid chapter

Totally absorbing
Where does Ellie rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Ellie is in the top 10 per cent of Audible books for me.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Ellie, of course. But Bonnie was the girl you love to hate and added so much interest to the story. Can’t believe she was the one who ended up ‘happy ever after’ after treating people so badly all her life. How did she manage to continue to get her own way?
What does Anne Dover bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Anne is very easy to listen to.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Quite a few.
Any additional comments?
I can’t wait for the sequel Camillia to be available on Audible.

not her best work, terribly abrupt ending too. The ending should have stretched to include some of the new beginnings
