Story
When May’s mother dies suddenly, she and her brother Billy are taken in by Aunty. However, their loss leaves them both searching for their place in a world that doesn’t seem to want them. While Billy takes his own destructive path, May sets out to find her father and her Aboriginal identity. Her journey leads her from the Australian east coast to the far north, but it is the people she meets, not the destinations, that teach her what it is to belong.

The year is 1883, and in New York City it's a time of dizzying splendor, crushing poverty, and tremendous change. With the gravity-defying Brooklyn Bridge nearly complete and New York in the grips of antivice crusader Anthony Comstock, Anna Savard and her cousin, Sophie - both graduates of the Woman's Medical School - treat the city's most vulnerable, even if doing so may put everything they've strived for in jeopardy.

Story
At just 16 years Danny Dunn has everything going for him: brains, looks, sporting aptitude - and luck with the ladies. His mother steers him towards a university education, but with just six months of his degree to go, he signs up for the AIF, driven by a desire to serve his country and plain wanderlust. Danny serves in South-east Asia, spends three and a half years as a POW, and returns a broken man, embittered and facially disfigured. He is scared and overwhelmed by the need to sort himself out, to find out who the hell he is....

Publisher's Summary
Bella Poldark is the 12th and final audiobook in Winston Graham's sweeping series of Cornwall, Poldark.
Cornwall, 1818. We continue the tale of Ross and Demelza; of the wayward Valentine Warleggan, whose existence keeps open the old wounds of the feud between Ross and George; of Bella, the Poldarks' youngest daughter, whose precocious talent as a singer is encouraged by her old flame, Christopher Havergal, and by a distinguished French conductor who has more in mind than Bella's music; of Clowance, the Poldarks' widowed daughter, who considers remarriage to one of two rival suitors; and of a murderer who stalks the villages of West Cornwall.
"From the very first lines we tingle with the sense that we are in good hands, transported by Graham's atmospheric prose back to 1818 and the treacherous coast of craggy Cornwall." ( Daily Mail)Critic Reviews

A wonderful set of novels
There wasn’t much not to like. The story from Book one to Book12 has been one of my most enjoyable reads ever! Superbly narrated by Oliver J Hembrough, I feel as though I have lost a family now I’ve come to the end! Amazing talent Winston Graham.

The Poldark Saga continues
I very much enjoyed this novel when I read it a few years ago so it was nice to revisit it again. I can’t say I am a huge fan of the narrators rendition of Ross or Geoffrey Charles but his Demelza was spot on, An engaging story that follows the adventures of Ross & Demelza’s youngest daughter and her pursuit of a singing career with other side stories and characters that add interest, including a knife wielding maniac!
