I love this.

Kim Wilkins has always been one of my all time favourite authors, and The Autumn Castle is by far the best story I’ve read from her (and now listened to). I felt slightly let down by the sound of it read out, however still a captivating and dark twisted delight of a story. The plot is woven in with snippets of Germanic folklore, gothic fairytales and horror. Love how some of the descriptions give chills. Be patient, give it a go. I’ve heard others readers say they find characters are extremely broken people, but really, that’s one of the reasons I love this. It’s raw and messy and isn’t afraid to explore things that other writers might not.

You have to stick with it

I found this books difficult to get into but once you get there you can't help but feel for the characters. If you persist (I had multiple long car rides) you will be rewarded.
