Publisher's Summary

Unlike the rest of her family, Maggie Walsh has always done the right thing - that is until the day she leaves her husband and takes refuge with her friend Emily, a screenwriter in Los Angeles - a city where even the palm trees are skinny. Soon Maggie's doing all sorts of things she's never done before, such as wearing sunglasses in the shower and pitching scripts to studio executives - and meeting a mysterious man named Troy, who is so non-stick he's known as Human Teflon.

Faultless Again

Loved the Hairdresser quips. So true and so much so I've cut and coloured my own hair for the last 15 years. Twice I reneged and cried at the lousy result.
This book was a little faster paced and that may be due to the setting.
Well done, you actually had me laughing.

Excellent performance.

I simply love Gerri Halligan. Definitely one of the best narrators that I have listened to. Oh, and the story isn’t too bad either😂

Great book didn't like narration

It was a good book but the narrator puts you off the story, she sounds a lot older than the age of the characters...sounds a bit like your grandmother reading to you.

Another great Walsh family yarn

Book 3 of the Irish Walsh family novels and its goodie goodie Maggie's turn to be not so goodie goodie by leaving her husband and going off to Los Angeles.

As usual very amusing but well-framed with the complexity of relationships, the consequences and the struggles of work, breakups, a slight smattering of sexual orientation issues, and the odd miscarriage.

Does not really sound like fun but it is very enjoyable! Keyes Irish humour keeps you entertained to the end.

Laugh out loud!

I loved this book. It's got moving emotional sections of a woman going through a break up & laugh out loud moments. It's a funny book & being in my 30s found it completely relevant & I almost recognised some of the characters in my own life. The narrator was fantastic & she had me totally engrossed in the story. Another wonderful book by Marian Keyes.

Poor narration.

A great Marian Keyes storyline as usual. However I found the narration unbearable at times. The female Irish narrator continually attempted to mimic American males, and did not succeed. Painful and cringeworthy to listen to. If not an American, at least get a male to read the male parts!

Brilliant

Another winner. I laughed and I cried and became swept away in this fabulous tale, narrated beautifully. All the characters brought to life by both Marian and Gerri.

Not as good as first two in series

Content to up the the diverse quality of the first 2 books in the series, but as always Marian Keyes manages to get you laughing out loud in the most inappropriate places. The empathy she creates makes you unable to stop til the end, while the perfect narration by Gerri Halligan adds to the atmosphere.
Just waiting for my next audible credit to listen to the next in the series- I’m hooked by this crazy Irish family!
