The Spanish House is a mixture of designs, Georgian, Gothic and Moorish, as if whoever started it had simply got bored. It has long been known as an architectural folly to locals, and is now nearly derelict to boot. When its reclusive owner dies intestate, the Spanish House is left to his city-dwelling niece. For Isabel, recently widowed, the house is a potential lifeline - the only hope she has of providing for her two children without having to sell her most treasured possession.

Publisher's Summary
Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of After You by Jojo Moyes, the stunning sequel to the worldwide phenomenon Me Before You.
Jojo Moyes says: "I hadn't planned to write a sequel to Me Before You. But working on the movie script and reading the sheer volume of tweets and emails every day asking what Lou did with her life meant that the characters never left me. It has been such a pleasure revisiting Lou and her family and the Traynors and confronting them with a whole new set of issues. As ever, they have made me laugh and cry. I hope readers feel the same way at meeting them again."

Not as good as the first book but still enjoyable
I was desperate to read this book after finishing Me Before You. It was disappointing that the narrator was not the same for both books. I liked the narration of Me Before You better. There was a real problem with inconsistent volume during the narration. I constantly had to adjust the volume in my car which drove me crazy.
The story was good but it lacked something that made the first book so good. I didn't smile as much or feel overcome with sadness but I still enjoyed it. The main character and some of the family characters seemed vastly different between the first and second books (more than what I expected).

Great follow up ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So great to have Louisa and her loveable family back. I really enjoyed this book. So well written. The story was interesting, surprising at times and a tiny bit predictable in the end. Loved the characters from her support group as well. I listened to the whole book in a couple of days, couldn't put it down. A perfect follow on, extremely well performed by the narrator.

Poor Quality Sound Returned to Audible
The sound quality is very poor on this recording. Constantly requiring adjustment to the volume to hear the whispering static narrator who is not the original Louisa! That is frustrating that she sounds nothing like Louisa in Me Before You. I'm not wasting 11 hours straining to hear Louisa continue to tread water in her life so have returned to Audible.

disappointing
The story line seems good but I couldn't finish listening to it because of the narration. The narrator speaks incredibly fast and swallows her words and she also speaks very softly. When I turn my earphone volume up it is easier to understand her but then she suddenly starts speaking very loudly and blasts me with her voice. If I slow the speed down in the app it is just too slow. I gave up trying to listen beyond the first third of the story.

Lovely story but terribly mastered!
The fluctuating volume makes for a slightly frustrating listen. Otherwise a nice story. Listen to the sample before buying!

Not as good as the first
Not as good as the first book. Story was dull and slow to start. The narrator’s voice was loud then soft then loud. It was frustrating to get the volume right

Depressing
After me before you I was looking forward to Lou's next big step in life. Overall a bit disappointed, quite heavy, a sad and slightly dull read. It felt almost like the book was trying to piggy back off the first one. I understand the characters relationships but it was exhausting continuously dragging on. Will read more from the author just not the best book!

Much more than a sequel
I've just finished After You and I'd like to say thank you for giving us more of Lou's journey. Feel free at anytime to give us another chapter or two I still feel the need to find out more of these beautifully complex characters. I know I could rely on my own imagination to fill in the blanks but quite frankly I don't trust myself to do that. In both these books things happened that I pretty much expect to occur but so much more took me completely by surprise. I wanted to skip forward more than once just to put myself out of my misery when I was hanging by a thread. I refrained but only just. I did love the way you took the time to allow all of the characters from Me Before You to grow within the pages of this book. It would have been easier to wrap things up with a nice little extended epilogue after the previous book but theirs was a story that needed to be told. I really enjoyed listening to the audio adaptations and the performance of those narrating brought about a depth that I sometimes miss when I am speeding towards the end of a book. Now I just have to wait for the movie.

A good continuation
Enjoyed the story, although not as plausible as Me after You. The sound fading throughout was really irritating, as others have mentioned

Great follow up to Me before you
So excited to find there was a sequel to Me before you. Was disappointed there was a change in narrator - the recording left a lot to be desired - was continually having to alter the volume. Whilst certain characters drove me nuts this probably showed what an excellent job the author did.
Despite the above ended up thoroughly enjoying and immediately downloaded the third book.
