Story
The causes of Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder range from severe neglect to monstrous abuse. Many survivors grew up in houses that were not homes-in families that were as loveless as orphanages and sometimes as dangerous. If you felt unwanted, unliked, rejected, hated, and/or despised for a lengthy portion of your childhood, trauma may be deeply engrained in your mind, soul, and body. This book is a practical guide to recovering from lingering childhood trauma. It is copiously illustrated with examples of the author's and his clients' journeys of recovering.

Drawing on the wisdom of Buddhist teachings, illustrative stories and the transformative power of meditation, Tara guides us in healing the shame and fear that bind our hearts. In the West, most of us have suffered the fear of not being 'good enough', feeling insecure about our appearance, our sexuality, our intelligence, our spiritual progress or - often most importantly - being worthy of love. When these feelings of insufficiency or self-aversion are strong, we fear abandonment and rejection.

Publisher's Summary
Karol Truman provides a comprehensive and enlightening resource for getting in touch with unresolved feelings which, she explains, can distort not only happiness but also health and well-being. Leaving no emotion unnamed, and in fact listing around 750 labels for feelings, Truman helps identify problem areas, and offers a "script" to help process the feelings, replacing the negative feeling with a new, positive outlook. A chapter on the possible emotions below the surface in various physical ailments gives the listener plenty to work with on a deep healing level. Feelings Buried Alive Never Die combines a supportive, common-sense, results-oriented approach to a problem that is widespread and that can stop people from living fully.

Great book. Painful to listen to.
I almost always listen to the sample before I buy audio books. Now I am woefully sad that I didn't this time. I refused to listen past the 2nd chapter. I tried changing the speed, and although regular speed was better, Paul's inflections were on all the wrong words. It literally sounds like I highlighted the book and let my laptop read it. I found our that I could get a copy from the library read by the author. Thank you! So much better!

Abysmal Narration
I have been trying to persevere through this book because it’s a good message. HOWEVER, the computerized voice is something I can’t get used to. I really don’t understand how this narration was accepted. I hope audible and the author recognize this.

Book content exceptional, but narrater difficult to follow
This is an outstanding book with incredible insight into the mind and body. Unfortunately, the narration leaves much to be desired. Narrator has a habit of pausing in the middle of sentences, thus making it hard to comprehend what is meant. Also, several words mispronounced. Not trying to be nit picky, but it is distracting from the book’s content.

I could hardly make it through chapter 1 STRICTLY DUE TO THE NARRATOR... I went to a local book store and got a hard copy.

Wonderful information! Everyone should know this!
It is a great book and I recommend it to Everyone! The narrator was really hard to listen to. Very choppy sounding. The only reason I kept listening was because the information is so good. It is also weird listening to a book read by a man that has a woman author.

The cadence is distractingly off
I really like the content and I love the readers creamy voice.... however the rhythm in which he reads is so mechanical and you lose the meaning. For example:
“Angry feelings are not in agreement with the body “
Is read like
“ANGRy. FEELINGS are NOT. In AGREEMENT With. The BODY...”
Or the sentence
“He does well faced with the adversity. “
Is read
He DOES well FACED. . WITH the ADVERSITY
It’s maddening!! It’s like someone is reading disjointed foreign words, but doesn’t realize what they mean.

Excellent content, HORRIBLE narration
Do yourself a favor and skip the audio version of this book. The content is excellent and very helpful for rewiring subconscious beliefs, IF you can get past the completely nonsensical emphases, incorrect pronunciations, and awkwardly placed pauses in the narration. It is so bad, it makes it almost impossible to absorb the content because it's so distracting to listen to. Plus, several chapters of the book are just lists of negative emotions and their opposite positive ones, or physical ailments and the associated negative emotion. These chapters are for reference and wouldn't be read in their entirety if you were using the physical book. This audio version needs to be scrapped and completely redone with a narrator who speaks with a natural cadence, and the lists included as a PDF file rather than read like the text of the book. Two thumbs WAY down!!!

Incredible book.
This is a wonderful book with so much good information. You really need a physical copy too to do the work correctly. I was, however, very disappointed with the person who narrates the book. His style is terrible. It almost sounds mechanical. He breaks in places where a thought should be completed first. It was hard to listen to at first but I made myself get past it because I knew I’d get through the book faster by listening. Wish they would reconsider RE-recording. Great book though. Definitely worth the purchase.

Very informative and interesting
I enjoyed reading this book; well listening to this book. I have found myself to be a little lost as of late and this book has shown me some in-site as to what steps I can take to assist myself into finding my own way with the help of spirituality it does not have to be the almighty GOD per say but spirit yourself. This book relates different medical illnesses to emotional well being which in my case could hold a lot of weight. I am going to start putting some of these things into practice; doesn’t hurt to try something new, a better improved me will emerge!
I would recommend this book to those looking for a way to find themselves and release the deep seeded issues we have a hard time releasing. Read, listen, and give it a try. It won’t hurt to learn and see what happens!
