"Attitude is everything." It's what makes the difference between those who succeed and those who fail. And it's easy to see - in other people. It's not as easy to recognize when our own attitude needs adjustment or to know how to change it. In You Are What You Think, David Stoop shows listeners how to use self-talk to make positive changes in their attitudes and beliefs.

Not bad but not life changing
I’ve listened to handful of similar ‘self-help-y’ type books and this one didn’t leave me feeling ‘wowed’ like other reviews have said. It was very warm and squishy but I didn’t get any ground breaking bits of info. Maybe I had too high of hopes for it given everyone propped it up so much? Wasn’t bad. Wasn’t mind blowing either.

Great book!
This book is great for personal growth. Although the author did not directly relate you "higher self" to God, I was able to place God into that space. Because that is what she means. Stating close to God/ Higher self, you can do anything with out fear. Nothing else can fill that space, only God.

Struggled to finish
I didn't like how much she talked about divorce. I felt like the most valuable information was in the first few chapters and then I felt as if her personal relationship experiences bleed into the content too much. I'm referring to her own divorce. It really bothered me on how casually she talked about divorcing a spouse, versus working on a relationship with that spouse to create a strong relationship. She just made it seem as if you can just jump in and out of marriages whenever you feel like it. I got the book to personally become a stronger person, not to get relationship advice.

I wanted to like this book, but I didn’t
This book contains far more words than it does actual content. I found myself skipping large chunks of it when the author used too many long-winded stories to illustrate her points. An abridged version could easily get the main points across. The author’s reading style is matronly, bordering on patronizing, which may be an artifact of the time when this recording was made. There are also jarring, new-agey musical interludes at odd times, which also made me wish that she would just get on with it.
