The Force never lets us down
I've been reading and listening to Marie Force's books for nigh on seven years now. Starting with Maid for Love I worked my way through them and have yet to find one that hasn't left me with the warm fuzzy feeling any romance needs to. In Fatal Frenzy, Marie weaves suspense with romance in a way that keeps you on the edge of your seat for the entire book. Sam and Nick are without doubt amongst my favourite characters created by Marie, and whilst part of me can't quite imagine a second lady ever being allow to serve as a cop, it makes for even more conflict, which let's face it, is what this is all about. Marie, keep them coming, you're awesome!

Wow! What A Fantastic Book
I have listened to books #1 through #9 in the Fatal series all of them are really good. I couldn't put them down once I was swept into the world of Nick, Sam and their family and friends.
There are a lot of emotional ups and downs in Fatal Frenzy (and the other books as well), and Ms. Force made me feel them all. Her character development is amazing. I loved getting to know not only the main characters but also the people around them.
There's Gonzo (a detective who works with Sam) and Christina (Nick's former chief of staff), Freddie (another detective) and Elin, Skip and Celia (Sam's parents), and especially Scotty their adopted son. I could go on to name all the other characters I love but I won't. You'll have to listen to this series so you can be introduced to them yourself. (Be sure to listen to this series in order. Don't forget One Night With You, which tells how Sam and Nick met.) As always, Sam's family (and extended family) anchor her as she deals first with the aftermath of her kidnapping (in prior book) and then with the loss of one of her detectives. It's that good. Ms. Force's dialogue is fantastic. The banter between characters is so well written that it drew me in.
I love discovering new authors and Marie Force has quickly become a favorite of mine. I haven't read any of her other contemporary novels, but will certainly be giving them a try.
Eva Kaminsky is one of my favourite authors and she was outstanding with the delivery of this story

Truly Disappointing Soap Opera
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
In the previous Fatal books Marie Force kept a reasonable balance between the "love story" and the investigative adventure. This volume lost that balance with continuous naval gazing introspection and feelings of the characters -- both main H and h as well as supporting players. It was wordy and repetitive of everyone's misery and reaction to a minor character's demise. It was hard to listen to it after awhile. I am hesitant to listen to any more of this series which, until now, I had truly enjoyed.
Have you listened to any of Eva Kaminsky’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
She is excellen.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Not many.
Any additional comments?
See above.

I am tired of the author switching between narrators.
I am tired of the narrator changing in this series. Avery Hill has lost his accent from the beginning of this series. Which returns in book ten. Not this current book 9. Sam Scotty and tinkerbell's voices sound off in book 10.
I have enjoyed the series so far, and don't want it to end in the 11th book. I would love to see Sam get pregnant. Great character development in this series.

I couldn't put this book down. I enjoy this series. This book, however, was the first one to bring me to tears.
The secondary characters are so important to this series. I just adore Scotty.
Why didn't Sam's sisters or Shelby attend the ball? They certainly would have been able to.

Poor Narration
Would you try another book from Marie Force and/or Eva Kaminsky?
I love Marie Force books, but I would never purchase another book narrated by Eva Kaminsky
What was one of the most memorable moments of Fatal Frenzy?
Haven't completed yet.
What didn’t you like about Eva Kaminsky’s performance?
She drops the last word of every sentence so predominantly that it is difficult to hear (or not hear at all). She does this especially with the voice for Nick. I hate that I ordered this book via Audible and not Whispersync. At least with Whispersync I could follow along and look at the text when I cannot understand or hear her words. Very poor narration. I am a Platinum Audible Member and I have listened to books where I did not like the narration; but never have I listened to a book that I want to stop reading because of the narration -- not the story line.
Could you see Fatal Frenzy being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Yes
Any additional comments?
Extremely poor narration. You cannot hear every word because she drops her voice at the end of the sentence so low that the word is lost. It's frustrating to keep rewinding to hear the narration and takes away from the pleasure of reading the book via Audible.
