Loved hearing Lena’s voice quiver , her smile , her pain, sorrow and joy. What an honest and intimate memoir .

Bloody loved it

I had listened to feedback about this memoir and thought it might be too demanding of my own understanding. Lena has always attracted the harshest criticism and so I decided to give it a listen.
I was spellbound. Lena’s writing is beautiful, she’s unnerving in her own self-criticism but I feel that she sees this world in a unique way. Her story demanded nothing of me but my time, it truly is my favourite book of this year. I was entertained for the entire time and honestly I felt a range of emotions. I love her for this book. It’s brave and raw and honest and so refreshing. I’m going to rewatch Girls too.

I didn’t want this to end.

Lena is an exceptional writer. A raw and honest recount of her life, which has been far from easy, told with self reflection and vulnerability.

What a journey

An incredible story, showcasing the harrowing journey not just Lena, but any woman in the spotlight faces under this patriarchal system we operate in, The complexity of relationships, growing up, chronic illness and how all of these things intertwine with one another. I was hooked from the first chapter ❤️

Outstanding

Probably going to be considered a millennial reminiscence piece - it’s really beautiful to hear Lena’s sorry of chronic illness and as always her work is full of little synchronicities and quips that are so reflective of, and able to connect with, everyone’s experiences of life. It’s a good story. I listened to it within two days.

Classic Lena Dunham storytelling
