Inquisitor Zenia Cham grew up with nothing, but she has distinguished herself as one of the most capable law enforcers in the city, and she’s next in line to become archmage of the temple. All she has to do is find the Eye of Truth, and her superiors are certain Jev has it.

He tries to charm her with his twinkling eyes and easy smile, but she’s not letting any man get between her and her dreams. Especially not a thief.

If Jev can’t convince Zenia they’re on the same side, find the artifact, and clear his name, his homecoming will turn into a jail sentence. Or worse.

I have enjoyed all of Lindsay's fantasy series collections. This one is very good also, didn’t get into it as much as some of her other works but still listened to whole series and enjoyed it a lot. Vivienne is a fantastic narrator, really brings the characters to life and she is so emotive and expressive.

The story is fun but I felt it started a bit slow. Seems like a good start to the series.

I loved the books of the forgoten ages world, and other of Linsays older books, but the quality have falen over time, I am sad to say.

The character depth is not presset, and the story could have been so much more. To many characters introdused, and newer seen again.
Even if it is to sett up a world for a series, this does nor live up too the quality I would expect from Linsay Buroker

As I love all of buroker‘s books, lately, the books a without much depth to it.
I wrote it once before und point it out again: I think broker has more than one ghost writer and she just didn’t care to keep up a higher standard anymore.
I’ll still buy her books and audio books.
